Five problems related to instrument panel have been reported for the 1998 Plymouth Grand Voyager. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Driving down road and all of sudden my guages go out on instrument panel-speedometer,fuel,temp, etc. It goes out and comes on whenever it wants to- I do a lot of traveling and rely on mileage re-imbursement but I get none cause my odometer and tripometer go out also, sometimes to never come on for a week or two.
The contact owns a 1998 Plymouth Grand Voyager. The contact stated that she smelled fuel coming from the vehicle. Also, the contact mentioned that the instrument panel failed to illuminate. The vehicle was taken to a private mechanic where it was diagnosed that the fuel pump module assembly and instrument cluster assemblies needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and stated the vehicle was not included in NHTSA campaign number 06e091000 (fuel system, gasoline). The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was unknown and the current mileage was 77,000.
Dashboard instrument panel keeps coming on and going off, abs light comes on then the instrument panel goes off. Speed is unknown, amount of gas is unknown, oil, etc. This is ridiculous in the fact that so many have been complaining about it and the company still hasn't recalled the vehicles to have this issue fixed. Yes I may have a 1998 Plymouth voyager, but I don't feel that because of the incompetence that this company has that I should have to shell out money to have it figured out and repaired. I understand normal wear and tear but this is not normal (for other vehicles, obviously very normal for this one in general). The strangest thing is, if the vehicle is warmed up from the sun, the panel seems to work, the majority of the time, where I live it doesn't work, and I have to guesstimate everything. How is this safe?!?!.
My entire instrument panel suddenly quit working and my check engine light and abs light are always on. The wipers start on their own whenever they like and I have to manually time when I turn them off because the wipers will not return to the bottom on their own.
My van is a lemon. All kinds of electrical problems - defogger sometimes work and sometimes not, windows won't roll down, stereo speakers sometimes works, instrument panel lights go off and on, dim yellow headlights, etc. Found pin hole in head. . . Defect in metal. Van over heated and gauge did not say it was hot. Fan went out. Now something going wrong with front end. Occasionally smell gas. The lifter head gasket now leaks oil. Van sometimes jumps in park and rolls. I can not afford to fix this stuff. . . Bail me out not Chrysler. . . .
