Air bag light stays on and has since first purchased, horn has not worked for about 8 months, cruise control quit working 3 months ago. Reading other complaints it appears there was a recall stating the problem is with the column clock spring. If I could receive a recall for the manufacturer to just provide a replacement column clock spring my nephew would place it on the van.
The paint is peeling off of my van. It has huge bubbles also.
I have a 1999 Plymouth Grand Voyager that had to have the clockspring repaired because the air bag warning light was on and the horn did not work. I come to find out that there was a recall for 1996-1998 models and because the problem has not been fixed I think they should extend the recall to include 1999 models as well.
Above are our major problems we recently had with our van. The most serious one that has to do with safety is the body work done to the left side strut tower due to rust - which also included the repair of the suspension. I reported this to daimlerchrysler under concern#11568602 asking them for financial assistance but they refused. We also had a transmission failure and air condion failure; howerver, these were fixed with no charge due warranty (below 100,000 miles), but the air conditioning failed again as noted above. Regarding other costs: these were for the front sway bar bushings and outer tie rod ends. I purhased this 1996 van in 11/12/1998 with an odometer reading of 53,841 miles.
Check engine light fail to come on. This in turn cause the fuel pump to start failing,which in turn cause one of the heads to have a mis-fire. This has cause me to fail maryland emissions cause they hook your vehicle up to a computer. Break down of repairs below from the Chrysler dealer that calls it a five star dealer !!! fuel pump = $600. 00 check engine light ( wiring ) = $350. 00 new head one side = $1,100. 00 this is from a man who changes the oil every 2,500 miles and takes great care of the vehicle my vw has 250,000 miles and still runs great. I called Chrysler but they said it my problem.
Paint is rusting thru on hood of my vehicle.
We just purchased the preowned van on April 8, 2003 it has 41600 miles on it one time owner previously 1. Paint is chipping off of the driver side door handle. The dealer is going to get us touch up paint to fix. 2. The power steering return hose to the power steering reservoir was cut when we looked at it. The dealer had the mechanic look at it and thought maybe the hose got caught in the fan belt and cut it. The dealer repaired it and said no other damage was done. This time they tide down the hose away from the belt.
Transmission pump, is out now, speckled paint on hood and top, sides, back, vibration in front end steering, loud noises, creaks and makes lots of noises, back door on right side will not lock or unlock. I need help with all of these problems. The items repaired was by a friend mechanic.
Sub frame of van has cracked causing severe vibration. All motor mounts failed. My 1990 had similar problem. Van is barley drivable and unsaleable. Throw in two complete ac systems, two multi-function switches(looks like #3 is linings up), a clockspring(recall) and top it off with horrible service. Loyalty should be a twp way street!! ts.
On brakes, had to replace the break drums and complete brake job. In December had to have complete r & r head gasket replaced. Had head replaced thermostat replaced and recall of clock spring, which I had to replace before I received recall notice.

Whenever vehicle is taken in for a oil change there is never any oil in the crankcase. An independent mechanic diagnosed an internal oil leak in engine. Vehicle is running rough and sluggish. Oil light has just started coming on. Dealer is aware, but would like to diagnose the problem.
When driving my van the dash check engine light comes on, the brake warning light comes on, and the abs light comes on. When stopping at a red light the rpm, odometer, and fuel gauges drop off as if you have shut the car off. These gauges will not come back on until after you have taken off and reached speeds of 10 to 25 mph. Intermidentally the gauges including the speedometer will quit at various speeds and will not come back on until basically it gets ready to you never know 1 minute or 5 minutes. I am concerned about driving this vehicle because I don't know when these lights are coming on because of this problem or if they are on because they have a valid reason to be on. I have taken the vehicle to the frank fletcher Dodge for repair and they changed a computer the 2nd time and told me they can't duplicate the problem for most of the isues. I take them for a drive and the problem is still there. I have not been able to get Chrysler to show any real concern other than tell me I should be patient with electrical problems. My patience has expired and I am worried about driving an unsafe car. If you could please help me I would appreciate it.
While driving transmission failed to switch from 1st gear. Engine check light came on, and power steering stopped working. Contacted dealer,and dealer installed output speed sensor.

Strong musty,moldy odor from vents smells like a wet dog. It clears after turning on ac. Sprayed disinfectant into vents, ok for one day. Odor same as before. No matter what is done the odor always returns.
While traveling at various speeds vehicle loses all power. Engine light flashes, and vehicle stalls.

Engine check light keeps coming on instrument panel. Consumer has been back and forth to dealer, and they keep saying it's something else.
2 occurrences; while traveling hwy speeds, sudden loss of power, engine check light comes on. The dealer hasn't been able to figure it out. This is extremely dangerous since it's only done it at hwy speeds, 60 to 70mph. There is no warning for vehicles behind you and you have to get over to shoulder of the roadway with limited power.
While driving on highway travelling 65-70 mph all of sudden experienced loss of power. Noticed oil light came on. Had to coast down to the nearest exit ramp. Contacted mechanic and was told that he had a broken engine piston.
This vehicle is unsafe and illegal to operate. However, Chrysler & the dealership seem to have no problem with me driving it. I am seeking remedy under the florida lemon law, I thought you should be aware as well. No safety defect listed in summary.
Intermittently, ongoing problem with vehicle stalling while driving. Wheels would lock up and the oil light would come on. Vehicle been in / out of dealer shop on four occasions and condition still exists. Dealer/mfr. Notiified.

The driver's side sliding door does not open from the inside. In addition, when driving the door has come open ea96-025, consumer has contacted the dealer, dealer has replaced the remote control assembly.

Panels on left side that covers door handle fell off, exposing door handles an lock. Dealer and manufacturer have been contacted.
Someone else we know in our family had same problems with their van,they had to trade it off!!!!!. No safety defect listed.
While driving dashboard gauges (odometer, tachometer, temp. ) drop to zero and all gear indicator lights illuminate, this happens frequently, although the dealer has not been able to diagnose or repeat the problem; the vehicle appears to otherwise drive normally.
Driver's side sliding door locking mechanism failed. Would not unlock to released door for opening. Not able to unlock door with remote control, but can lock it. Currently, experiencing problem on passenger's side sliding door.
Transmission kept getting stuck in 2nd gear , and engine check light came on. Please provide further information.
