Three problems related to front seat recliner have been reported for the 1996 Plymouth Voyager. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Driver seat recliner mechanism failure, frame of the seat cracked or broke. Dealer notified.
While driving about 50-55 mph, all of a sudden. The seat back on the driver's side collasped. Vehicle was taken to the dealership for repairs. The whole seatback assembly was replaced at owner's expense. Dealer reimbursed owner for repairs. .
Vehicle was at a stop when it was rearended. Upon impact, both driver's & passenger's seatbacks broke and fell back, causing back injuries. Manufacturer stated it was a safety feature.
