Three problems related to structure have been reported for the 1998 Plymouth Voyager. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
The contact owns a 1998 Plymouth Voyager. While the vehicle was being serviced by a local mechanic who stated that the under carriage had deteriorated due to rust. An authorized dealer confirmed the diagnosis. The contact called the manufacturer and was unable to speak with anyone. The approximate failure and current mileages were 57,000. Updated 09/24/10. While having some work done on our 1998 Plymouth Voyager, the mechanic noticed that the area at the top of the strut and spring connected under the hood has both corrosion and perferation. It covers about one-third of the strut tower. I called a dealer and was told that this rust-through was not covered under their warrenty. I was also told that this condition is potentially dangeropus if the strut and spring rust completely through. The rest of the body is rust free. I also found that in 2002 a service bulletin 23-044-02 dated October 14, 2002 covered this problem. Since this is a major safety and cost issue for my family, I would like to know if there is anything I can do to get chrisler to fix the problem?.
A/c evaporater no good. They replaced them up to 1997. Rear latch has been replaced twice & it does not work again. Hole rusting from the inside out just behind driver sliding door.
