Other Fuel System Problems of Porsche 911

Purchased 2024 carrera s used (1 other owner) no car fax from Porsche down town la in Dec. In January with around 10k miles. Car is driven just on weekends and now has 12k miles. Two days ago smelled strong raw gas smell and immediately took to Porsche hawthorne and they confirmed leak in fuel line which as I am reading seem more common and very concerning due to risk of fire - appears a know thing amongst Porsche yet they don’t do anything preventatively about it. They also found front axel lift broken and need to replace cylinder - all on a 2 yr old car with very low mileage.

Component that failed: a high-pressure fuel injector (cylinder 2). The failed injector and engine wiring harness are available for inspection on request. The vehicle is currently at an authorized dealer. What happened: while driving at approximately 35-45 mph under light throttle in normal traffic, the engine began misfiring without warning. Scan tool data with the engine off showed the bank 1 high-pressure fuel rail losing pressure rapidly while bank 2 held normal pressure, indicating a high-pressure fuel leak. Strong fuel smell in rear of vehicle, upon further inspection, it was discovered that a hard fuel line connection was leaking from a fitting on top of a very hot engine and very close to a very hot manifold. Leak was very pronounced and there was strong evidence that this leak and been dropping for some time. (staining of engine) vehicle was brought in to dealer service for in fact confirmation of leak. There were no warning lights or cel's whatsoever. Only a strong fuel smell in rear of vehicle. My felling is this could have been a disaster for anyone operating the vehicle or a passenger, had the dripping fuel ignited on the hot engine. Absolutely worst place to put a fuel line connection.

Woke up one morning and noticed a very strong gas smell coming from the car while driving with the windows down, even at low speed. Once I noticed the smell I stopped driving and exited the vehicle and again noted the very strong smell. I immediately took the car to the nearest Porsche service dealership in beverly hills. The repair was covered by warranty, and the issue was found to be due to a leakage from the fuel supply line that runs from the fuel tank to the engine. This is a very serious issue that I find dangerous had I not immediately noticed. The part was replaced with the same component, not a better version (as Porsche has not manufactured one). I was told this same issue has occurred with similar cars of this make, model, year.

Two separate instances of fuel line failure and fuel leak in the engine compartment. The first in March 2024 and the second in September 2025. Metallic fuel line located on top of the engine suddenly started leaking. Previous time I drove the car there was no indication of a gasoline leak or odor. There were no warnings or indications of an impending leak until gasoline was emitted from the line. A faulty fuel line above the engine needed to be replaced. The fuel line leaked enough to pool on top of the engine. I took the car to Porsche irvine, they fixed it under warranty and mentioned that this was not unusual and they have seen this before in my2022 Porsche 911 cars.

A leak in a high pressure fuel line was releasing gas on top of the motor. I smelled gas, and had vehicle towed to the dealership where I purchased the car. The dealership has confirmed the cause of the fuel leak and ordered the replacement fuel line. Since it’s a leak in this fuel line, no check engine lights or other warnings flagged the problem. In my opinion, this is a significant safety problem that could lead to a fire and potential injury.

The fuel injection problem on cylinder 2 and 4 had injector electrical faults for the last two years resulting in reduced power warning. I finally took my car to the dealer for an analysis. After their analysis here is their statement on the service invoice: "client state check engine light comes on and vehicle will run rough - client scan for codes and had codes p0202 & p0204. Cylinder 2 and 4 fuel injector electrical faults. After updating dme software, clearing faults and test driving, mil illuminated again. Quoted fuel injector replacement. Due to the large amount of labor required for replacement, all 6 have been quoted to circumvent a potentially bad batch and to prevent a re-visit to replace any additional injectors at a later date. " I had to pay almost $11,000 to replace "bad batch" injectors on a car that has only 13,455 miles. If they are "bad" injectors, is this a wider problem than my vehicle?.

Check engine lights, engine control module, erratic idle, p0089 check engine light code. Maybe unsafe to operate & stall?.
