1 Adaptive Cruise Control problem of the 2025 Porsche Cayenne

Failure Date: 01/14/2026

The attached photos show several instances where the car’s safety systems failed. These cases have been erratic, and begin and end frequently. The car is under warranty, but my dealer cannot discern what causes the problems.

2 Adaptive Cruise Control problem of the 2025 Porsche Cayenne

Failure Date: 11/12/2025

Multiple dash messages indicating failure of driver assistance systems.

3 Adaptive Cruise Control problem of the 2020 Porsche Cayenne

Failure Date: 10/01/2025

A coolant hose located on the top of the engine developed a leak that caused the engine to overheat. It was necessary to remove several components of the engine to reach and replace the leaking hose. This repair cost over 5000 dollars with the associated labor cost. Vehicle had less than 6000 miles on it at the time of the incident. It took several weeks to get the needed parts.

4 Adaptive Cruise Control problem of the 2024 Porsche Cayenne

Failure Date: 07/04/2025

As I was making a turn onto another avenue, and accelerating to blend into traffic flow, dashboard messages suddenly appeared 1)"engine control error, driving still possible, see dealer. " 2)"active lane keeping not available, driving still possible, service required" 3)"adaptive cruise control not available, driving still possible, service required". Adaptive cruise was not engaged at the time of the error. The car lost almost all power, despite saying "driving still possible"; cars behind me had to brake hard as my car would only go about 7-10mph tops with accelerator firmly depressed and engine began to run very roughly. I coasted to shoulder of road, took video of error messages, turned car off and restarted car which cleared messages and car regained normal operation. I was glad this happened in-town and not when merging on a highway. This is not the first time the car has issued sudden warning messages stating certain systems had failed only to be cleared by restarting the car. I have taken the car to the dealer before to have them research the issue but they say errors cannot be replicated. However, this was the first time engine control message posted and was the first time the car lost power and put me in danger of not being able to control the car's speed in traffic. I have lost faith in the car's control systems. I can live with lack of cruise control or lane keeping, but I cannot tolerate sudden lack of power than can cause an accident. This is my 3rd Cayenne, and unfortunately on this model, the electronics are ruining an otherwise well designed vehicle.

5 Adaptive Cruise Control problem of the 2011 Porsche Cayenne

Failure Date: 12/29/2024

At highway speeds, randomly a serious unsafe to operate 'service necessary' warning appears on the instrument panel and the cruise control malfunctions; abruptly shutting off. With the service necessary warning indicated, the vehicle is unsafe to operate. This unsafe vehicle is not drive-able with cruise control. Error will go away on its own. This breakdown appears to be known to Porsche based on what I have seen on internet community sites.

6 Adaptive Cruise Control problem of the 2025 Porsche Cayenne

Failure Date: 11/19/2024

At approximately 57 miles after delivery of a new 2025 Porsche Cayenne, the adaptive cruise control (acc) and related driver-assistance safety systems failed while the vehicle was traveling at approximately 67 mph. There had been no collision, impact, or abnormal event prior to the failure. Porsche’s diagnostic logs (piwis) confirmed the system failure occurred while the vehicle was traveling at approximately 67 mph. A physical inspection of the vehicle showed no evidence of collision, abnormal g-force event, or exterior damage that would explain the system failure. The malfunction disabled a key driver-assistance safety feature on a nearly new vehicle. The vehicle was returned to the selling dealer for repair and the manufacturer, Porsche cars north America, was notified. Both the dealer and manufacturer indicated that the issue was not considered a defect and declined to provide further explanation as to how such a failure could occur at extremely low mileage without any external factors. Given the extremely low mileage at which this safety system failure occurred, this may indicate a defect affecting the vehicle’s driver-assistance or adas systems. A failure of adaptive cruise control and related driver-assistance systems at highway speed raises potential safety concerns for vehicle occupants and surrounding traffic. The failure occurred at extremely low mileage with no apparent triggering event, raising concern about a potential premature failure of a safety-related driver-assistance system.

7 Adaptive Cruise Control problem of the 2021 Porsche Cayenne

Failure Date: 06/08/2024

Much like thousands of Cayenne drivers, I am constantly let down by an ongoing issue with adaptive cruise control failures with an error message that reads, “adaptive cruise control unavailable. ” this may cause serious injury or death if not repaired as vehicular collision rates increase dramatically to no avail. Porsche dealers are notoriously recalcitrant about taking adequate responsibility for these failures. The cost of repairing Porsche’s poor craftsmanship is either prohibitive or they are disinterested in repairing these problems within an acceptable timeframe. It is long past due for the federal government to intervene and compel Porsche to recall and repair their adaptive cruise control failures. I had my cameras recalibrated three (3) times in three (3) weeks and yet the problem persists without meaningful redress. Help!.

8 Adaptive Cruise Control problem of the 2019 Porsche Cayenne

Failure Date: 04/01/2022

There's an electrical issue with the vehicle (it is an e-hybrid) with error messages that run in a continuous loop (acc not available, pas restricted, driving light control error, high beam assist not available, lane keep assist restricted). The local dealer has not yet been able to fix the issue. Car is under warranty and has been in the shop for a month. We were called two times to pick up a "fixed vehicle" and each time we had to return the car almost immediately upon leaving the dealership since the problem was not fixed. I've contacted Porsche customer service but as of yet there is no resolution. It is very concerning since some of these error messages do affect vehicle safety.

2018 Porsche Cayenne: at highway speeds, randomly a serious unsafe to operate service necessary warning appears on the instrument panel and the cruise control malfunctions. With the service necessary warning indicated, the vehicle is unsafe to operate. This unsafe vehicle is not drivable with cruise control for approximately the next hour. This breakdown is known to Porsche (via their communications with me) and they are unable to rectify the error. In a 2020 Porsche Cayenne this failure has been rectified. Attached, invoices from five visits to Porsche dealerships, all during the warranty period. Attached also photographs taken on various days, times and speeds, and traffic conditions of the service necessary warning on instrument panel and cruise control malfunctions.
