I was driving my car and at a stop sign I started accelerating when the light turned green - I must have been going 45 mph after the light and all of a sudden my car went into hyper acceleration speeding up to 80 mph, I was pumping my brakes and the car was still raging to accelerate. I almost ran into a semi truck in front of me becuase I could not stop my car from accelerating, my foot was on the brake padel not the accelerator and it would slow down but as soon as I take the foot off of the brake - it would go into a rage accelration again, my car also gave wba restricted warnings while accelerating. I was finally about 2 miles of stoping and accelerating pull into a sholder with my brakes slammed, and parking brake pulled, the car finally came to a stop. I was also being followed by other cars and could have caused them to run into me as I tried to stop the car.

When the weather drops below 0 celsius, the hybrid battery fails with a hybrid battery failure message. The Porsche dealer said this is a known issue and there is no fix. I've been stuck several times in the past 3 years up in the mountains when the temperature drops suddenly and there are no services within 100's of miles to even tow it to get a fix. I just have to wait for the temperature to warm up to start the car. There is currently no bypass to switch to gas only which would solve the issue. If you look at the pic, there is plenty of gas in the car.

Much like thousands of Cayenne drivers, I am constantly let down by an ongoing issue with adaptive cruise control failures with an error message that reads, “adaptive cruise control unavailable. ” this may cause serious injury or death if not repaired as vehicular collision rates increase dramatically to no avail. Porsche dealers are notoriously recalcitrant about taking adequate responsibility for these failures. The cost of repairing Porsche’s poor craftsmanship is either prohibitive or they are disinterested in repairing these problems within an acceptable timeframe. It is long past due for the federal government to intervene and compel Porsche to recall and repair their adaptive cruise control failures. I had my cameras recalibrated three (3) times in three (3) weeks and yet the problem persists without meaningful redress. Help!.

Porsches with lifepo4 lithium batteries (like mine 2019 Cayenne s) have a software/hardware error that causes the battery to incorrectly send a code to the battery management system so that it will suddenly shutdown the battery permanently and will require a full battery replacement, which the dealers abuse its customers by charging $3,000 to $5,000 dollars and give a battery replacement date as almost one year later. Porsche has internal tsbs but it is not recalling all the customers to have the software update for the controller/sensor bug/defect so that the battery management system will not overcharge the lithium battery and damage it or cause the battery to issue a software code that preventsbthe battery from waking up or be usable. Texas has temperatures of 110 f, and becoming stranded because the battery gets incorrectly/permanently shutdown is a death sentence to Porsche customers. Porsche is being arrogant with their customers and deeply profiting from this know defect. There are a series of small battery shops that are making money from Porsche’s defective battery controllers/sensors and charge around $500 to $800 to replace the battery sensor/controller and programming the new controller as long as you send them your dead battery. Porsche will not reprogram rhe battery controller/sensor if you replace the original battery, with no explanation on why. Anybody driving a Porsche vehicle that have these battery defects in the controller/sensor/programming will perish, together with their passengers, if the battery gets shutdown and become unusable in a 100+ f, 110+f or if yhey get stranded in a freezing situation. It's a deadly time bomb waiting to happen, if it hasn't happen already since Porsche is not being straightforward. Porsche even sells these defective lithium lifepo4 batteries on old cars 2019 models and others, and does not disclose to them that the battery can die unexpectely and hjat the battery is not within the warranty.

In September 2022 the yellow battery warning light appeared on my dash while my car was still under warranty. Porsche had an open campaign wmj9 that involved a software update that resolved the issue. Last month, June, while my car was now out of warranty the same yellow warning light appeared but this time the dealership recommended I replace the battery at a cost of $3,200 Porsche refuses to accept that these 2 instances are related and that the battery should be covered since the software update during my first service visit didn't offer a long term solution. To make matters worse the lithium battery used in my vehicle has been an issue for Porsche to say the least.
For the past nine years, my vehicle has recorded multiple safety issues (trunk not closing/breaking, check engine light, catalytic converter misfire, keyless electronic entry issues, glow bulb light, turn signal bulb light, windows not rolling up, leaking fluid on the passenger side, burning smell coming from the vents, electrical issues with the radio, sunroof intermittently not opening/closing and the key not turning the vehicle on. Over the past nine years, I have taken the vehicle to numerous Porsche dealerships per the federal mandate from Porsche USA / Porsche uk. To date, the service manager, chris sansbury and general manager at brian harris Porsche, and Porsche USA, refuse to fix the vehicle. My vehicle is still under factory warranty. I am a person with multiple disabilities. The dealerships (jim ellis Porsche, hennessy Porsche, leith Porsche, brian harris Porsche) have charged me thousands of dollars. I have been extremely sick and desperately need your help. Please help me!.

While the vehicle was charging, the protective sheath near the power outlet of the charging cable had possible electrical or fire damage. No warning lights were illuminated. Upon turning off the power and unplugging the outlet, it was determined that the plastic near the plug melted and caused the power to short. I have been unsuccessful getting the manufacturer to resolve the issue. A recall under apb6 was issued but did not include model year 2018 which uses the same cable that is impacted with the recall.

My car had a problem in the hybrid part, before doing the diagnosis they said 3 different problems, when they gave me the diagnosis they said they didn't know what it was but that to begin with “it could be “ the components $13,000 to fix. But my car is under the 8 years or 100,000mls hybrid system warranty, so I contacted porshe headquarters and they said the car was out of warranty. So I called porche in fremont (where they have mentioned the warranty on their website) and 3 people confirmed that the car is under warranty by VIN n. I called headquarters again and they said they needed this guarantee in writing. So when I called fremont again 3 weeks later they said the car is not under warranty, meaning they changed the whole conversation within 3 weeks. I already confirmed it on carfax and I am under warranty but I never received any responses to emails or phone calls they are ignoring me because they don't want to assume the warranty. Fremont confirmed that I had 6 months or 19,000 miles until the warranty expired, and strangely 3 weeks later that warranty no longer appears in their system. In my opinion they don't know what the car has and they are trying to escape the warranty because there are few months left to finish, that's why they don't give me answers, I haven't tried all possible options and I can't find help to solve this problem, I'm stuck at home dor the last 3 months with 2 children without car. Because my only car is at the Porsche parked waiting for someone to take over the car's warranty. Mentioned that the car had no accident, it was just parked in the garage and one morning it didn't start and had to be towed. Terrible costumer service.

Driving light control error keeps on popping up on the dash.
I was driving the auto and parked in my garage without any indication of a fault. I attempted to start the car about 30 minutes later and the car would not start and gave an error message that said "change driver" I tried both keys and neither would allow the car to be started. There was no starter noise indicating a weak battery. I had to have the car towed to the dealer after the tow company found a way to unlock the drive shaft with a key that is part of the car service tools. I could not move the car if I had stopped on a roadside. The dealer had never seen this issue before. The car was in the shop for a week to correct the fault from March 23 to March 31. The dealer claimed it was a software fault. There were no warning indicators or messages that something was wrong with any component or system.
Car died suddenly at a traffic light stop. It was later diagnosed by dealership that the battery and starter have failed.
Problem with the hybrid system and the engine control system. Unit changed automatically and unexpectedly from battery power mode to engine power mode when on battery power mode only. This change is not supposed to happen. This failure happened when starting the unit, put on drive and starting to move forward. This failure caused the unit to charge forward with more power unexpectedly. Causing almost to collide. At the time of the failure “engine control system” warning and “e power not available” warning lid up. The unit has been for service for 10 times with the same warnings powering up. At this time the unit has been on service for almost four month.
Porsche and vw has a drainage issues with certain model vehicles. The drainage plug is set in the trunk near the battery, main system cpu and amplifier. Water gets drain into the lower compartment of the trunk and causes electrical issues with the vehicle. It's been a design flaw from Porsche since before the Cayenne was created. To repair the damage it cost upwards of $3,000 per damage battery, electrical components, amplifier are all billed separate. Porsche warranty refuses to honor the design flaws in correct the issues. Owners are not made aware of the issue until it becomes an issue then Porsche wants no part to do with it. The drainage location can cause an electrical fire and engine malfunction while driving.
In-car entertainment, transmissions controls, audio controls, climate controls (front and rear) , car will shut off without turning the key in off position, often times the vehicle will just terminate a call with no warning - no explantion, the rear camera on the screen in reverse show the rear of the car but it stays on for like 10 seconds when moving forward in drive, all of these are selected one the center console but placing your hand and fingers on the panel you accidentally select features or controls - this is dangerous because you hit things that you don't want and is distracting. The entertainment system does not have the features they represent that they do and you are constantly distracted with trying to find a feature that it doesn't have or can't find; using the phone will not allow you to use the keypad until stopped. So what you end up doing is using your iphone which becomes a safety issue. There are so many problems that I can't message all. If you can give me a link I can't send or upload about 50 videos. I think all around to use the center counsel because hazardous design as to how to use a feature - it's a massive safety issue and hazard. I believe that many owners have been in accidents and caused damages and perhaps deaths. Porsche will not respond after the first call a few months ago. I was told by a dealer to contact the bbb - they told me that Porsche cars of America has a d minus rating and never has responded to customer complaints. I did discover that they made massive changes in the 2024 model. No wonder - I will stop here - will; attach a few photo's but there is no explanation. Please help!!.
2019 Porsche Cayennes (and other Porsche models) have life p04 lithium batteries that have an internal battery control module that causes a "battery low " indication. Porsche has been updating the software/ firmware for this module, only for it to fail again. Eventually, the battery will fail, lose charge, and become dead. There are no after market batteries available and if you are 1 mile out of the warranty period, Porsche forces you to buy a new replacement battery from them for over $2,000. 00 usd plus labor. This battery failure condition for vehicles with this type of battery is well known by Porsche and they now use a completely different type of battery in their newer models. This failure should be considered a safety issue and concern since the battery powers every safety feature the vehicle has to offer. There are pages upon pages of testimonies on the rennlist forum website for Porsche owners and all have been advised to contact Porsche cars north America and only a small percentage have had any luck with that. Porsche should release a recall to modify the system to the newer, more dependable battery for affected vehicles.
Beginning in August 2022, I have had repeated problems with the battery in my 2022 Cayenne. If the car is left sitting for approximately 48 hours, the battery dies and must be jumpstarted. We reported this issue to Porsche immediately and my car has been in with the Porsche service technicians at least three times (August 9, sept 13, Nov 7) this fall with no success at fixing the problem. (we also had a call telling us to take the car outside for a "software update," which did not work. ) we are told this is a problem somewhere in the electrical system and it is affecting other 2020 Cayennes and some 911s. But Porsche has not offered a solution, nor is it being at all proactive in offering assistance or support. We have compensated for the last four months by parking the car in a garage and keeping it on a trickle charger if we are not driving it regularly. However, we were out of town for two weeks over thanksgiving and the car battery died in spite of being connected to the trickle charger. We had to jump start the car and reset all the car settings. In addition we have had sporadic issues with unlocking and locking the car doors via hand touch. Porsche has been treating this issue as an "inconvenience" rather than what it is - a serious life safety issue. One of the service technicians told me "the car was meant to be driven every day"! I hesitate to drive my car at night because I do not have confidence that the car will start for me on a dark street at night. Every day when I come down to drive my car I allow extra time as the car may not start. I have more confidence in my 2013 Toyota tacoma than in this car in terms of reliability. This is a problem where Porsche has not offered remediation or assistance, nor has it offered a any assistance (I. E. , loaner car or any alternative) while my car either been in the shop (for a total of at least two weeks) or has been operating with the (acknowledged) defect.

What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? -the trunk how was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? -while the vehicle was on, the key was on teh vehicle and the vehicle was in motion the trunk popped open on it's own. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? -no has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? -no were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? -no.
There's an electrical issue with the vehicle (it is an e-hybrid) with error messages that run in a continuous loop (acc not available, pas restricted, driving light control error, high beam assist not available, lane keep assist restricted). The local dealer has not yet been able to fix the issue. Car is under warranty and has been in the shop for a month. We were called two times to pick up a "fixed vehicle" and each time we had to return the car almost immediately upon leaving the dealership since the problem was not fixed. I've contacted Porsche customer service but as of yet there is no resolution. It is very concerning since some of these error messages do affect vehicle safety.
On August 21 2021, I was out shopping. When I went out to return home, the car would not start. I could not jump start it or anything. I had it towed to the dealer. I found out from Porsche and dealership that my car was disabled by Porsche connect. I do not have this service or pay for it. On Friday sept 3, I was informed by Porsche customer service that it disabled my car because the original owner (in 2015) changed their phone number. So Porsche assumed stolen and shut down. I did not authorize this, I did not sign up for this service. They will not fix the car because they say it is out of warranty. Because I do not know the code to turn the car back on, they want to replace parts and say I have to get the Porsche connect app. This is a known issue at Porsche because the dealer found a TSB on it. They are not taking responsibility for shutting down the car with out my permission. This is a safety issue depending on where I could have been.

The day we took our Porsche home, we noticed a lot of heat generation in the car- but we thought it will be fine going further, given the attention to detail of Porsche's automobile engineering. The following days were not any better for my daughter- she missed a major accident because of the unexpected burnt smell and loud warnings of an overheat of the engine by Porsche in the middle of a highway. Due to her excellent driving record for the past 5 years, she was able to manage and stop in the middle of the highway at the curb of the road. She panicked so much so that, she stopped using the Porsche and borrowed our other cars, benz and Lexus. I requested her to give Porsche another chance yesterday night. The same situation repeated again within a span of 10 minutes of her journey in Porsche; she had to stop in the middle of the road again due to engine overheat and burning smell and I went to pick her up as she got really scared. My son immediately informed the hennessey Porsche north atlanta, georgia, the USA about this repeated situation but seems like they do not care at all. I think you must be aware that dealerships play the most crucial role between your loyal customers and Porsche. We have not dared to take the Porsche out again after yesterday. The car smelled so burnt, the whole garage smelled bad and we had to move the car into the open driveway.
My car stop suddenly, ignition key failure, then like transmission hesutation until the car stop completely where at that moment call a toll that cost me $650 dls. Since that day car having electric problems and even transmission get stuck sometimes, have to to do it manually.

Tl- the contact owns a 2004 Porsche Cayenne s. The contact stated while attempting to start the vehicle, the contact heard a loud "boom" noise and fire started coming from the glove box in the interior of the vehicle. Fire marshals were called onto the scene to attempt to extingush the fire, after 3 hours the fire was extingushed. A report was made with the fire marshals. The contact stated no injuries were sustained at the scene. The vehicle was not towed and remains on contacts property. Upon investigation, the contact associated the failure with, NHTSA campaign number: 04v069000 (electrical system) however the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was informed of failure and told the contact that since they did not purchase the vehicle from a porshe dealership there was nothing they could to do assist the contact. The failure mileage was approximately 115,000. Dl.
Our turn signal sound is so low that we do not realize that the signal has remained on since our last turn. It has caused oncoming traffic to stop unnecessarily and following traffic to pass inside assuming we were turning left. Both situations have caused near accidents.
Porsche Cayenne have water drain design issue. When raining or wash the car, the water drain clog will make water flood the inside of the vehicles, and damage the wires under the driver's side and passenger side. This is a common issue, Porsche know this, but not fix it.

I looked it up and this is what happened previously reported by another owner. I had the exact same experirnce. Nhtsa id number: 11306756.
There's a electrical issue with the vehicle. Periodically, these error messages run in a continues loop( acc not available, high beam assist not available, driving light control error, pas restricted and camera system restricted). The local dealers have not been able to fix the issue. I opened a Porsche complaint file, which is number 5574318. This issue has been happening since the car was delivered, which was sixteen months ago. Porsche has made little effort in fixing the issue. It very concerning since when the error messages are rolling though it affects several safety features on the vehicle.
The display unit which function the navigation and radio stopped working and it keeps rebooting. After do further research this is a common problem for many years. Without the navigation we are forced to use our phones which is a hazard.

2018 Porsche Cayenne: at highway speeds, randomly a serious unsafe to operate service necessary warning appears on the instrument panel and the cruise control malfunctions. With the service necessary warning indicated, the vehicle is unsafe to operate. This unsafe vehicle is not drivable with cruise control for approximately the next hour. This breakdown is known to Porsche (via their communications with me) and they are unable to rectify the error. In a 2020 Porsche Cayenne this failure has been rectified. Attached, invoices from five visits to Porsche dealerships, all during the warranty period. Attached also photographs taken on various days, times and speeds, and traffic conditions of the service necessary warning on instrument panel and cruise control malfunctions.
Fuel gauge inaccuracy. Fuel gauge dancing then shows fuel gauge fault.
While driving on the city street for about 10 minutes when a message "fault-fuel gauge" popped up on my instrument cluster. Tried to fill the tank at the gas station but then the tank was full however the fuel gauge incorrectly indicating the tank is only 1/2 full. Message would intermittently come on while driving. This vehicle was manufactured in June 2014 not recalled nor corrected by Porsche manufacturer in their recall of 2014 model. Car mileage is only 39,563 and this cars VIN was not included on Porsche recalls. This particular fault is exactly the same fault as all the 2014 Cayenne Porsche has previously recalled. Carfax report on this model/VIN states no recall. It would be dangerous to take this vehicle for a long drive due to inaccuracy in fuel gauge reading as vehicle can dangerously run out of fuel and stalling and increasing risk of accident.
Metallic contact points for the front turn signal bulb holder integral in the headlamp assemblies corrode or erode rendering the turn signal inoperable. Correction requires costly replacement of the entire headlamp assembly. Point of failure is inaccessible for photograph. Both left and right front turn signal contactors have failed on subject vehicle with in the past year. The parts in question are not subject to operational movement or wear, and a mandated safety item whose failure may result in a traffic citation by police.
A start ignition won't start and I have to plug the key in order to started the vehicle.
Car lost all acceleration and engine shut completely off happens frequently. Car on separate occasion sieved and shook violently to a stop on the road multiple times.
