Steering Problems of Porsche Cayenne

In-car entertainment, transmissions controls, audio controls, climate controls (front and rear) , car will shut off without turning the key in off position, often times the vehicle will just terminate a call with no warning - no explantion, the rear camera on the screen in reverse show the rear of the car but it stays on for like 10 seconds when moving forward in drive, all of these are selected one the center console but placing your hand and fingers on the panel you accidentally select features or controls - this is dangerous because you hit things that you don't want and is distracting. The entertainment system does not have the features they represent that they do and you are constantly distracted with trying to find a feature that it doesn't have or can't find; using the phone will not allow you to use the keypad until stopped. So what you end up doing is using your iphone which becomes a safety issue. There are so many problems that I can't message all. If you can give me a link I can't send or upload about 50 videos. I think all around to use the center counsel because hazardous design as to how to use a feature - it's a massive safety issue and hazard. I believe that many owners have been in accidents and caused damages and perhaps deaths. Porsche will not respond after the first call a few months ago. I was told by a dealer to contact the bbb - they told me that Porsche cars of America has a d minus rating and never has responded to customer complaints. I did discover that they made massive changes in the 2024 model. No wonder - I will stop here - will; attach a few photo's but there is no explanation. Please help!!.

The contact owns a 2004 Porsche Cayenne . The contact stated that while the vehicle was taken to the dealer for a recall repair appointment, he noticed the steering wheel had a quarter inch of play. The u-joint connection was severely corroded. The dealer diagnosed that the steering column and steering shaft needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 266,969.

The contact owns a 2021 Porsche Cayenne. The contact stated that while driving from a complete stop, the steering wheel felt loose. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was towed to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the tie rod bolt, tract bolt, and the hexagon head bolt needed to be replaced. The contact stated that the vehicle was repaired; however, the failure persisted and the steering wheel was making abnormal sounds. The vehicle was taken to a second dealer - Porsche south shore (185 w sunrise hwy, freeport, NY 11520) who test drove the vehicle but could not determine the cause of the abnormal sounds. An unknown part was replaced. The contact stated that the failure reoccurred while driving and she could not control the vehicle. The vehicle was taken back to the second dealer. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but did not provide any assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 750.

Several times a month when my car comes to a stop the brakes malfunction and the brake pedal goes to the floor and the power steering stops working. It takes up to another car length to fully stop when this happens - sometimes just a few extra feet. It has caused me to damage the front end by driving into a bush. The dealer refuses to do anything because they can't replicate the brake problem and they state the steering problem is normal. I have been able to replicate the steering problems to them but because the brake issue happens only a few times a month I was not able to.

When accelerating the vehicle sputters and catches. This is extremely dangerous if trying to accelerate on a highway or should you need to accelerate to avoid a collision. My vehicle was bought brand new and currently only has 23,600 miles on it. This should not happen to a car with very low mileage. This issue happens while turning, while on the highway, while in reverse, and while on a city street. I took the car to Porsche and they identified that the car needs a new transfer case. This is unacceptable as this is extremely dangerous. This issue seems to have happened on 100s of Porsches.

I heard some knocking from the area of the front left wheel while driving on a city street about 30 miles per hour. I stopped and inspected under the car and saw nothing. So I decoded to bring it to my service provider. I drove about 3 miles at slow speeds to get to the service provider. After about an hour they found the problem. One of the bolts that holds the knuckle to the wheel had backed out and was banging around the break system. They said I could not drive the car until it was fixed.

Auto start stop function. When approaching a stop light, the engine will shut off while car is still moving slowly. You lose ability to steer vehicle while moving (albeit slowly) when the auto start/stop function engages. This function should only occur when the car is stopped, not moving slowly.
