1 Headlights problem

Failure Date: 12/23/2015

Filed a complaint about this issue before (03/2015) and having the same problem, headlights flicker and sometimes go complete off while driving on highways and city streets. I received a recall notice when this issue was first known, after that I did not receive any other paperwork concerning this issue. The SAAB north America office and the local dealer keep on telling me that me vehicle does not have the hid headlights (this is stamped on the headlight housing and when I searched the VIN it does show it was installed on this model). I have tried to change the headlight drivers module (hdm) but still the same problem, thought maybe because I purchased an oem product it could be also be bad. Purchased an aftermarket hdm and still the same, I do not know where to go with this, I was employed by dod as a fleet manager so I am not stupid when it comes to a vehicle with issues. Think that gm is just trying to get over and do not want to accept it is a problem with the electrical system.

2 Headlights problem

Failure Date: 05/16/2015

The contact owns a 2006 SAAB 9-7x. While driving at various speeds, the passenger side air bag inadvertantly deployed without warning. There were no injuries. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where the air bag was repaired; however, the diagnosis was unavailable. On another occasion, the headlights failed to operate intermittently. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the electrical system failed and the fuse and head lamps needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure recurred. The contact also stated that the front driver side door failed to unlatch, causing the contact to be locked outside the vehicle. The vehicle was not diagnosed, but the latch was replaced. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 95,000. The VIN was not available.

The contact owns a 2006 SAAB 9-7x. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 25 mph, the headlights failed and the high beams were required to be activated in order to view the roads. The failure recurred on multiple occasions. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who diagnosed that the headlight driver module failed. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 14v755000 (exterior lighting) however, the part to do the repair was unavailable. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. 5 Headlights problem

Failure Date: 04/27/2014

While driving home our headlights flickered and turned off. I was able to pull over and restart the vehicle and the headlights came back on. Once driving again, they flickered and the passenger side headlight went out. I was able to drive the vehicle home with the one light (luckily). When I went to replace the headlight, it was back on again. I checked all connections and was unable to find the cause. A couple of weeks later the stabila-trac system light and air bag light came on and went off (5 min period). A couple of days later the steering locked up and would jump, we brought it to the SAAB dealer and they had to replace the awd actuator needed to be replaced ($788). We replaced it and the steering and awd system appeared to work fine. Two days later the airbag light and stabila-trac system light came on again and went off. Dealer was unable to pull up the codes (not logging codes?). A month later while driving, the windshield wipers would come on and turn off on their own and when their on the washer sprayers for the headlights and windshield turn on on their own. This vehicle has major safety issues due to electrical issues and should be investigated. This vehicle has become unsafe and untrustworthy.

6 Headlights problem

Failure Date: 12/17/2013

Headlights flickered and I thought they were going to go completely off but they did not. Checked the internet and with dealer for this incident and was told this was a normal occurrence with this vehicle. Since then, the vehicle now has 145,746 miles and there are more instances of these happenings. Also have a problem with the electrical system due to interference coming through the stereo system and creates a humming/buzzing sound coming from the back speakers. Had a certified SAAB technician troubleshoot this problem and found a problem with the ground system (electrical) in the rear speakers/equalizer. I am presuming that this may have something to do with the whole electrical system (to include the headlights, equalizers, speakers) of this vehicle. Just had a recall taken care of to replace the front drivers door power window module.
