2 Air Bag Not Deploy problem of the 2002 SAAB 95

Failure Date: 09/27/2010

Had a head-on accident, traveling approximately 55mph, car pulled out going across intersection, hit head-on. Slammed on brakes noticing she was going, and slammed into her car, her car turned around 180 degs. My airbags did not deploy, nor did the seat belt lock up, which allowed me to go forward in the accident.

3 Air Bag Not Deploy problem of the 2008 SAAB 95

Failure Date: 01/24/2008

I have a 2008 9-5 SAAB and the passenger airbag turns itself on and off while someone is sitting in the seat and the car is moving. The sensor is supposed to be set to turn airbag on for 90 lbs but my wife and kids weigh about 120 lbs and the only way to keep the airbag sensor on is to pull yourself down in the seat and hold on. I have notified SAAB about this issue and they cannot fix nor do they seem willing to try. My wife sat in other 2008 9-5?s and had the same problem at the dealerships and they witnessed the problem so it is not just our car. I hope someone at SAAB/gm will take this up and get it fixed before someone is killed or hurt due to faulty airbags on all 2008 9-5 models! the problem is that the sensor is located such that the weight of the person sitting in the seat is distributed away from the sensor and the ?repair? noted in their manual does not work. They do not have this problem in their other line of cars as they have different sensors. The local dealership notified me that they know gm also has this problem in their line of vehicles with the same sensor/seat probe. I hope by getting this information out to the public, no one will be hurt or killed in a crash involving a 2008 9-5 SAAB when the airbag does not deploy because the person is less than 140 lbs and sitting in the front passenger seat.

5 Air Bag Not Deploy problem of the 2003 SAAB 95

Failure Date: 05/28/2004

While driving 30 mph, another vehicle rear end the consumer. This caused the driver to loose control of the vehicle. As a result the vehicle was hit my other vehicle's from different angles. Both frontal airbags failed to deploy. Both the driver and passenger sustained injuries and were transported by ambulance. The vehicle was totaled out by the insurance company. Neither the side impact air bags nor the head restraint air bags deployed.

6 Air Bag Not Deploy problem of the 2000 SAAB 95

Failure Date: 12/08/2001

The impact was front end - I hit a steel and cement pole at 25 mph and the air bag never deployed. My head crashed the windshield and I sustained a severe head injury with amnesia, loss of conciousness, aphasia, left sided weakness, fractured ribs, and severe post concussive syndrome. My seatbelts caused 4 broken ribs on the right. If the airbag had deployed according to my doctor I would have not sufferred these injuries. I contacted SAAB corporate office and reported the incident and they were not helpful at all.
