I purchased my 2004 SAAB 9-5 in 2023. I was under the impression that everything was running and that drivability was proper. When I attempted to drive the automobile it would start, idle 7 minutes and stall. It would not start again for about 35 minutes. I tried to use it, and this behavior continued. Often, in traffic it would stall while I was moving at low speed, and moderate speed: without warning, it cuts out and won't start for 40 minutes. I have spent money with my mechanic, over $1,000. I personally bought many parts: maf sensor, fuel pump relay, fuel filter, and fuel pump. I replaced the coolant sensor. After all this the vehicle still stalls 5 minutes after warmup. If it drives to warm up, it stalls and won't restart for 40 minutes. After I replaced the crankshaft position sensor, (cps), it has never restarted. I bought 3, one a bosch branded model, and it has never restarted. Many other drivers complain in forums, like SAAB forums, that they are experiencing the same problems. As you know, stalling at highway speeds can cause death. Clearly the problems with the SAAB motorcars, produced, owned, and sold through general motors, are something that poses a hazard, and should be repaired at gm dealership's expense. P. S. The vehicle's immobilizer device has caused my vehicle to not start at all. The key fobs have stopped functioning at all. I replaced the batteries, and they won't connect to the engine. The vehicle will crank, but no start. Battery runs down, with crank, but no start behavior. Can general motors either: 1. Replace the entire engine, 2. Repair the "stall, no restart" situation, 3. Moreover repair my seeming to be, "anti-theft system, no start" situation, called dice/twicesystem, 4. Turbo malfunction at a cost of $455. 00 and also engine filter box. Vehicle still not running correctly. Will only go at speed of 25 mph. Repaired on 03/27/2018. Started out smoking all over the place from exhaust. Was told turbo went bad. I think a lot of these cars have this problem as I read on forums(SAAB,). That I have since joined. The SAAB has 139,000 miles. . I was driving on a city street at speed around 35mph. Started to smoke heavy, but once out of city as long as I drove 50 mph on highway smoke was dispersed from wind and made it home but when stopping for red light would buck and try to shut off. Smoke not good for environment. . . . . .

Tl- the contact owns a 2005 9-5 SAAB. The contact stated that while traveling 70 mph, the check engine warning light illuminated repeatedly as the vehicle began to sputter and jerk. The contact then merged to the side of the road where the vehicle stalled. The vehicle was able to be driven to the contact's residence and was later taken to a private mechanic where it was confirmed that the fuel line failed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted. The failure and current mileages were 122,000. The VIN was not available. Kmj.

I was driving the car when suddenly the car when dead while I was driving it. I was lucky that I was able to restart it and there was a gas station right near by. It did not start up normally and was very sluggish. I was in the middle of traffic when this happened but fortunately not heavy traffic and in the right lane. It was very scary. They towed my SAAB to a SAAB dealer for me who had to install a new ignition. This happened about 4-5 years ago on my SAAB 2003 9-5 station wagon which was built by gm. I believe it was built on the same platform of one of the cadillacs that is under recall.

The check engine light came on in my car and based on previous experience I immediately drove to the repair center. They checked the codes and discovered 3 errors related to the throttle body. They cleared the codes, drove the car and the light came on again. Since they did not have the part in stock I attempted to drive it home but the engine would barely start and even after starting it ran rough. I refused to drive it since my experience so far has been when a component on this car fails, the car does not degrade gracefully but rather stops abruptly (using in the middle of the road).
