With only 670 miles on a new set of tires, an inspection for a completely unrelated reason found that there was a bulge in 3 of the 4 new tires. Installed in Jun, issue found in Dec; car is driven very little. Tires were purchased from tire rack and installed by discount tire. Inspection by discount tire found the 3 defective tires. They report bulges as "impact damage". I have had one other tire ever with impact damage in 180,000 miles on this 20+ year old car. On this set of tires, there were no incidents, such as hitting a curb or pothole. I have to believe that these tires have a manufacturing defect. For all I know, they had a sidewall bulge from day one. I am replacing all four tires. I have contacted vredestein customer service, at both domestic and International email customer service contacts. They have not answered, even with an acknowledgement of receipt.

While trying to get my car inspected, the technician found some very concerning uneven wear in the inside edge of one of the tires. After doing research it seems to be a known issue for my car model. If the wear is left unchecked can be a hazard for everyone on the road, fortunately it was caught on time, but the fact that this is a widely known issue with no real fix available makes me want to report it. The car is a 2003 SAAB 9-5 aero, but the defect affects all trims and years of this model car.
Rear tires have been wearing our prematurely. Inside tire wear.

Vibration after changing tires. Had rebalanced 3 times and nothing helped. I had the car checked for suspension problems, nothing was found. After talking to several other SAAB owners, I realized that I was not the only one who is experienceing this.
After replacing all four tires on my wife's 1999 SAAB 9-5 and on my 1999 SAAB 9-5 a vibration showed up at various speeds. Each car underwent numerous tire rebalancings at different tire shops as well as our SAAB dealer. Nothing helped. On my car, I returned the tires and bought new, more expensive ones thinking that maybe the problem was in the tires. After the new set were installed, the vibration was still there. I posted my concerns on a popular SAAB website Saabnet. Com for advice from other SAAB owners. The response was overwhelming. Seems as though many other SAAB 9-5 owners have had this exact problem after changing tires. No one has found out what the problem is, some went away by themselves and others are just dealing with it. I think something is wrong with the 9-5 and now that I know many have had this problem, I am very concerned.
After significant vibration under front end at highway speeds appearing at less than 10,000 miles, car underwent alignment and 3 high speed balances. According to dealership, "all 4 tires were worn on insides and could only be caused by defect. " dealer stated that "road forcing will not allow tires to be within the limit. Tires need to be replaced. Sent tires to manufacturer for warranty. " service completed on 10. 29. 04, with pirellis replaced by same size michelins. Work order was completed on 1. 7. 05, which was the first time I saw details and charges, despite repeated requests since 10. 29. 04. My understanding, and authorization at the time, was for the pirellis to be replaced because of the defects, but with michelins, to avoid possibility of defects with the replacement pirellis, at a cost of up to $50 per tire because of the change. Dealer maintains I owe $915. 82 for the michelins, less the $212. 80 credit pirelli issued on 1. 7. 05. Ironically, the vibration in the car continues with the new michelins. I do not believe it was the intent of the dealer to mislead me, but that was the result. A work order provided at the times requested instead of over two months later would have defined the agreement and resulted in a different course of action.

The car suffers from vibrations when the original equipment tires are replaced. The replacement process requires many rebalancing and/or tire replacements and still results in more vibration than exists with the factory tires. The vibration is most pronounced at speeds around 70-80 miles per hour.
