I can't get in gear. Sometimes I can put it gear but after I have stopped and put it in park, it will not go into any gear so I get stuck. I am a senior and bought this second hand. It only has 47,000 miles on it. It appears it doesn't always go into park properly. This shift problem has been recalled on other cars of this make and model and I need it repaired as soon as possible. It happens all the time and I am afraid to drive it anywhere.
I have had a paid for multiple flex pipes as well as a catalytic converters repairs I was just informed the flex pipe is broken again. This leads me to believe that after repairing this part twice that this part was be defective. Kindly add my complaint . I will also be filing a complaint with the epa in washington DC in hopes that this issue can finally be resolved. Thank you. Rita mccarthy.
Takata recall. Although I haven't had any issues (yet), I'm baffled as to why it's been a year and there still is no fix. If I were to be injured in an accident, you better believe there will be a lawsuit following. What is the status of the recall? I have had no follow up. I own a 2008 Saturn Astra 2 door. Thanks.
"takata recall" this car has electronic problems, dashboard lights blinking, gage hand's go up and down. The transmission shift cable broke. I was in a parking lot parked,started car went to put car in gear,gear shift was loose,wouldn't catch,called totruck,to pull car, was told by the driver,that the transmission shift cable was broken.
I was driving slowly through a parking lot when the passenger side mirror glass suddenly fell off and shattered.
The vehicle will not register the correct gear on the shifter assembly display, shows park or all lighting indcators illuminate simulteaneously, impossible to determine exactly which gear it is actually in, most times reverse even though the indicator lights are not accurate. Dealer recommends changing both the shifter assembly and cable at a cost of over $1300, car has less than 46000 miles. Problem is intermittent, happens randomly without warning.
Early morning, parked in grocery store parking lot. Finished shopping, loaded groceries in trunk, tried to start car. . . Key did not even turn in lock at first. Then all gear lights came on, but no engine start. Tried several times. Then I called aaa. They said it was not battery, but got it started by turning key to first position, stepped on brake, put gear in neutral, then turned key further to start. I then drove car to garage where they said it was probably a transmission switch problem. I am waiting to hear more specific details on what needs to be repaired and the cost.
Fuel door would not open(locks and unlocks with the regular doors). Researched the problem,and got the solution; in the trunk there is a small covered opening,on your right,turn the screw and it will open. There is a black wire, pull it and this will unlock the fuel door.
Bought 08 Astra Jan 27, drove to az. Car drove fantastic. On 6/18/2008 I took it to Saturn because I kept hearing a high pitch chirping noise upon acceleration. It only makes this sound if the ac is on. It sounds like the belt is loose the tech told me it was because the engine is not strong enough to handle the ac and everything else at one time. Like I said it did not do this when I bought. He told me to monitor the noise. It is still making sound along with a deep rattle also coming from the front of car.
