Several issues.
On three separate occasions going at slow speeds, I step on the braks and the car jumps and go at a high speed when I am in traffic. In happens when the traffic is slow and then begins to move. The last occasion resulted in my car being totaled. It always the front end.
While driving on the highway the engine light came on . I took it to the dealer this weekend and was told that the timing chain has stretched and that the camshaft actuator is not staying into position . There is currently a recall on this engine in every car model except the Saturn .
My car revs up and starts taking off on its own while my foots on the brake, im at a complete stop, I have a hard time stopping it, I put it in park when im stopped now, it reves up while at a complete stop and takes off, 7 times now.
I took my 2007 Saturn Aura xr 3. 6l to firestone to have a diagnostic test. Firestone alerted me that I needed a timing chain. I search the internet and found gm warranty 11340 covered other gm vehicles with the same 3. 6l motor and repaired the timing chain at no cost! why is the Saturn Aura not on the list we have the same motor.
While driving 55 on a busy two lane highway the vehicle dinged and read service traction control on console, immediately the it flashed engine power reduced and engine disabled and my car lost all power and I was unable to get it all the way off the road due to the uphill incline - the car behind me shot out into oncoming traffic and almost caused a major multiple car pile up. The car restarted after sitting a few minutes with reduced engine power for the first twenty miles - I could top out at about 45 and hear an electrical engagement sound. I took it to the dealership but the traction control and engine lights were gone by the time I got there and it was back up to power. I was told it was likely a sensor on the brake pedal and they had to order the part. It has disabled on me about five times now without warning and does so at any speed. It started this before any other problems with the vehicle, specifically as I lost traction on some icy snow and spun the tires a few times when the car had 50,000 miles on it. Before the traction control was addressed I had to replace the engine as the timing chain and cam actuators failed at 210 k. We somehow forgot about the tc problem and three days into driving with a new engine the car disabled again stating service traction control.
The engine power reduced and the traction light come on. When trying to take off the engine has no power. Also when you are driving at regular speed it will reduce without warning. It makes me feel very unsafe to drive. This car has been nothing but issues from day one and now that they stopped making them gm doesn't want to help. They just want to sell you a new car.
I started the car (in the rain) suddenly the tc light came on and also the warning words engine power reduction. The car would not accelerate. I left the car for the weekend in the driveway and when I started it on Monday, everything seemed ok.
Ses light illuminated at approx 95,000 miles when backing out of my driveway. Code read is p0017. I took to my local iowa city gm dealership to diagnose and was told it's a stretched timing chain. I'm the vehicle's second owner and purchased it 6 years ago at 33,000 miles. I've always performed regular oil changes at the specified intervals and taken good care of the car. I was quoted $2,500 to fix this, and told this is not under warranty. . Read more...
The contact owns a 2007 Saturn Aura. While driving 40 mph, the vehicle failed to accelerate when the accelerator pedal was depressed. Various warning lights illuminated prior to the failure. The contact mentioned that other drivers noticed and informed the contact that the rear of the vehicle was on fire. The contact pulled over to the side of the road and exited the vehicle. The contact mentioned that smoke was seen coming from the hood of the vehicle before it caught fire. There were no injuries. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, but was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 100,000.
It been happen every week . I be driving all the sudden the tc light come on also the engine light and the speed reduce I pull over and cut the car off for awhile then the tc light go off and the speed come back.
Vehicle has a timing chain problem, throwing a p0017 trouble code. My make , model and engine are included in gm special policy 11340a, covering the specific issue of a bad timing chain. This diagnosis was confirmed by a gm dealership. The dealership and gm refuse to cover my vehicle in any way. My vehicle cannot pass my ohio e-check and runs rough, with running condition deteriorating.
Due to sudden loss of engine power, I nearly avoided a collision from oncoming traffic. This occurred while turning left at an intersection with regular traffic from an airport. The engine timing chain required replacement, which was rather costly. Gm special coverage adjustment bulletin #11340c covers some but -conspicuously- not all gm vehicles with the same 3. 6l engine for up to 10 years. I strongly feel that unexpected loss of engine power (due to worn timing chain or any other issue) in the middle of oncoming traffic is a safety issue. I don't understand why all vehicles with the same defective engine / timing chain are not being proactively repaired by gm.
Tl- the contact owns a 2007 Saturn Aura. The contact stated that while driving at an unknown speed, the check engine warning indicator illuminated continuously. The vehicle was taken to a dealer and diagnosed that the crankshaft corrilator needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The VIN was not available. The approximate failure mileage was 90,000. Jw.
I was having an inspection and was informed that there was a problem with my camshaft corralation. They determined that the timing chain has stretched and needs to be replaced for $2000 dollars this is the same engine as other vehicles that have been repaired under service 11340c why is this engine not covered.
As I am driving all of a sudden the car cuts and reduced engine power comes on and traction service and then it won't go above 25 mph but starts at 5 mph and slowly goes up and shakes I have gone to gm dealer and other auto shops and they can't find the problem it's dangerous because it could lead to a re ending with my daughter in back and cause a crash . I have seen more people with this problem and they need to figure it out because someone could get hurt.
Engine light came on and then went off the same day. Engine light came on again a few weeks later. Took it for service, said it might be because an oil change was needed but if light came on again it was likely the timing chain and I should take it to the dealer. Light was on immediately after service and the service traction light came on at the same time (this was the first time that light came on). Took it to dealer and they confirmed it is the timing chain. Going to cost about $2700 and 2-3 days to fix. Not sure why this model wasn't recalled when the 2007 Saturn outlook was recalled for the exact same part.
I was stopped one evening on my home from dinner when my car would not shift and had to make arrangements to get car to the dealership for the second costly repair. . . Then six months later I received a special coverage letter in the mail. I had followed the process through the dealership for reimbursement and never so quickly got turned down due to the mileage at the time of repair. Prior to 2009, this transmission had issues caused by a very weak 3,5,r wave plate, which made this transmission prone to failure in gm products. Updated wave plates were released for many clutches in 6t70. The old design wave plates weren’t stress relieved and could break with use. The updated wave plates are available. First course of action was a TSB number: pip-4327a owners of 2007-2009 Saturn Aura and outlook, and 2008-2009 Saturn vue equipped with the 6t70/75 6-speed automatic transmission may experience no reverse and slip/flare/harsh shifts in 3rd and/or 5th gear. Codes p0776 clutch pressure control (pc) solenoid 2 stuck off and p0842 transmission fluid pressure 14404a – special coverage adjustment – transmission clutch wave plate I am requesting a recall due to having defective parts. . . Knowingly and waiting until consumers/customers were over the mileage to get out of any type of reimbursement that is due to them. I have never been so disappointed with gm customer service and repeating the same answer back to me every time knowingly that my car repair was due to defective parts. . . . I followed the steps and nothing. . . As if this is all made up. The incident date above was the replacement of the wave plate, piston and spring, reaction gear etc. I have spoke with lawanda at gm customer service many times and like I have told her I 'm not going away anytime soon. Sincerely, karla barnes.
The gear shift would not go into to park, neutral , or reverse, the gear shift to the transmission broke. The steering column fluid is leaking, the front head light went out. The head gasket is wearing out, the car is rusting already on the body. The air conditioning fan is not blowing out cool air or heat. "the transmission feels like it slipping sometimes. I feel so betrayed to have been sold a car that needs so much work when all I wanted was a dependable car to get me to my part time job. I had just purchased this vehicle from a dealer and less then three hours after driving it off the lot I was in traffic in the twin cities and the engine gave out on me. I had braked because of a vehicle in front of me and went to accelerate and nothing happened. Luckily the vehicles behind me, on 35w, didn't hit me as I was stuck at 35mph and crawled off of the road. I do a good amount of city driving and this could have happened to me in a much worse possible scenario. I got the error codes p0700 p0776 from the engine, turns out that my wave plate broke and that this has been happening to Saturn cars for years and there hasn't been a recall. I could have easily got in a car accident and died when this happened to my vehicle. It could have easily been prevented too. I've been conned out of a lot of money by gm on this vehicle, but I'm also happy just to be alive.
While driving I got an engine light, then a service esc then a service traction. I contacted onstar for a diagnostic (after I returned home). I then had it towed to a garage where the mechanic informed me that after replacing a sensor the problem still existed and was due to a stretched timing chain. He then said he thought there might have been a recall concerning this issue. I have had issues prior to this and got no satisfaction from the dealer service center in santa rosa CA. I even filed a complaint with Saturn.
I arrived at driveway to my home and put the car into park. I got out of the car and closed driver door to unlock chain on gate in front of driveway. I proceeded to manually open the 25' metal gate. When the gate was almost completely open I turned towards the car and to my surprise the car was moving forward with no one in it. The car traveled approximately 15' and was stopped by a 3' diameter metal cylinder. The cars front bumper was damaged. Luckily, no persons were injured.
The contact owns a 2007 Saturn Aura. The contact stated that the check engine and traction warning lights illuminated. The contact received a notification for NHTSA campaign number: 14v252000 (electrical system, electronic stability control, exterior lighting, service brakes, hydraulic, vehicle speed control). However, the part needed was unavailable. The contact stated the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was notified of the issue. The approximate failure mileage was unknown.
I have experienced numerous defects with my 2007 Saturn Aura xr. Since purchasing this vehicle, I have performed routine maintenance (I. E. Oil changes, tire replacement, brake service, etc). However, the vehicle requires continuous repair and is frequently problematic. On 6/6/2012, the transmission was replaced with only 71,945 miles on the vehicle the vehicle does not start from time to time. I thought the battery was the cause so I went to advance auto parts where I purchased the battery. The technician performed a diagnostics test on the battery, alternator, and starter. The report showed that all three components tested normal. On 11/29/2012, (while still experiencing issues with the vehicle starting) I went back to advance auto parts and asked them to replace the battery again to see if it resolved the problem. Soon after, the vehicle continued to have trouble starting. When having the brake pads and rotors replaced, I was informed that the power steering rack needed to be replaced with 84,718 miles on the odometer - estimated over $700 to repair. There is also a malfunction with the interior controls of the vehicle. The door locks as well as the controls on the steering wheel including the horn do not operate! consequently, the dashboard displays an airbag service message. (a major safety concern) recently on April 1, 2014, the vehicle made an alarming noise when I started it. I had the vehicle towed to a local gm service center to be diagnosed. I was informed that it would be $100 for the diagnostics check. After the initial inspection, I was told that there was a problem with engine and that it would be another $200 - $300 just to remove the engine and disassemble to further investigate. My vehicle is currently not drive-able. The engine and steering issues are also documented on service bulletins related to 2007 Saturn Auras.
I would be bopping along on the highway, then all of a sudden, the check engine and reduced eng pwr messages appeared on the driver information console. On my way home from work the other day after the rain storm, I was driving on I-95 and all of the a sudden received several error messages in the dic: -service traction -eng pwr reduced the check engine and tc-disabled indicators remained lit. So I limped the rest of the way home on what felt like two-cylinders. After reading some info on the web I fond out that water could be coming in from some place and is affecting the throttle control module (part no. 15780668). I think this is another issue that gm need to look into because it can make the car just stop on the highway.
After exiting the highway I was stopped at a red light. Upon starting to move, the vehicle stopped accelerating and the engine revved to 3000rpm at 15-20 mph. I was able to get the vehicle to a parking lot and was fortunate to not cause an accident as I was in a lot of traffic. I attempted to drive the vehicle in the parking lot under the paddle system and the vehicle would not go past the third gear. I had the car towed to my mechanic and they also noticed the car would not go into reverse. The engine light then turned on. The car has been transferred to a transmission shop who has stated the transmission needs an entire overhaul which will cost $3300-3400. They are currently repairing the vehicle. I feel there should be a recall including free repairs of this obviously defective transmission. I have read many complaints with a very similar scenario.
The contact owns a 2007 Saturn Aura. While driving various speeds, the vehicle vibrated violently and the service check engine indicator illuminated. The failure recurred periodically. The dealer stated that the power train, crank shaft, and drive axle transfer case needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was notified. The failure mileage was 70,000.
At the mall, car sputtered 5-10 times before finally starting. As I was leaving mall parking lot doing 15-20mph, car suddenly loss engine power and began to shake / shutter. Dashboard console displayed reduced engine power and service traction. Car wouldn't go faster than 20-25mph. I had to take side streets to get home. Car later towed to dealer. Dealer found leaking fuel pump and throttle body cable connector loose/dirty. Tech removed connector from throttle body, cleaned it, added di-electric grease and re-connected it. Engine power regained. Fuel pump replaced at another garage due to cost at dealer. Note: this was 2nd time car was taken to same dealer with same problem. I was told it was "bad" gasoline and was charged about $86. 00 (not including towing charge). Also told to use premium gas at another gas company. Fuel pump problem not found even when they were told about strong fuel smell coming from rear, drivers side after car sits for awhile. Asked for reimbursement from dealer owner, but it was denied.
Having trouble with the timing chain on my 2007 Saturn Aura with only 22,232 miles. Why wasn't there a recall for this since there seems to be a lot of complaints about this. It will cost $1200 to replace the timing chain, money I just don't have.
My car was working fine after parking for 10 minutes I came back to start my car and it wouldn't start I called my mechanic and he told me that the wire for shifting of the gears was damaged the carb wouldn't go into park and would roll on its own.
Vehicle would not turn over, towed to mechanic, timing chain determined to be at fault checked policy 11340a which references other 3. 6l vehicles with the same issue - the Saturn Aura xr is not listed here, but is displaying the same issues. Vehicles covered under that policy indicate an extended warranty demonstrating knowledge of the issue, but acceptance of the full scope.
Door locks malfunction constantly locking and unlocking. Engine heat can be felt inside the car when driving causing the a/c to be used excessively waisting more gasoline. Windshield wipers wear out quickly and do not wipe water off of driver side glass well. Radio and speakers electrical malfunctioning. Lettering rubbed off on functional buttons on steering wheel and doors. Air bag light malfunction. Hood of car developed weather spots. Insulation at the top of front window worn out.
I was just informed by the dealer that the timing chain on my 2007 Saturn Aura needs to be replaced. The car has only about 72,000 miles on it. This seems highly suspicious.
Brake lights staying on/ engine power reduced with on any warning almost rear ended.
Does not shift into intended gear. Does not shift into manual shift mode. Took to the dealer now I need a new transmission and catalytic converter. Sometimes does not shift passed 2nd gear.
