Wiring problems of the 2007 Saturn Aura

Summary: general motors has decided that a defect which relates to motor vehicle safety exists in 2004-2012 malibu, 2004-2007 malibu maxx, 2005-2010 pontiac g6, 2007-2010 Saturn Aura vehicles. On these vehicles, over time an increased resistance can develop in the body control module (bcm) connection system and result in voltage fluctuations or intermittency in the brake apply sensor (bas) circuit that can cause service brake lamp malfunction. As a result, the service brake lamps may illuminate when the service brakes are not being applied, or may not illuminate when the service brakes are being applied. Additionally, cruise control may not engage. If cruise control is engaged, additional service brake pedal travel may be required to disengage it. Service brake pedal application may not be required to move the shift lever out of park, or additional service brake pedal travel may be required to move the shift lever out of park. Traction control, electronic stability control, and panic braking assist features, if equipped, may be disabled. Service esc and/or traction control tell-tales may illuminate with this condition. Safety risk: these conditions may increase the risk of a crash. Remedy: dealers are to attach the wiring harness to the bcm with a spacer, apply dielectric lubricant to both the bcm and harness connector and on the bas and harness connector, and relearn the brake pedal home position free of charge.

Tl- the contact owns a 2007 Saturn Aura. The contact stated that there was a failure with the gears not properly been engaged while in any gear with no warning. The contact had experienced the gears rolling from park, reverse or drive and had to apply the emergency brake to prevent a catastrophic crash. In addition, the on star system (voice command) kept activating as well as the radio which had started on their own, along with an internal electrical wiring failure. The vehicle was taken to larry puckett Chevrolet, 2101 cobbs Ford rd, prattville, al 36066, (334) 223-4481 several times who had not provided a permanent fix to the multiple failures yet. The manufacturer was notified of the failures and the contact was waiting on the technical guidelines to repair the vehicle. The approximate failure mileage was not available. Dyd.

Since purchased issue with steering, had alignment before purchase but steering is just simply off. The cruise works when want and scare me when pick up speed goes too fast. We were in a group following one another and person behind me said my brake lights were not working. They were working backwards, when not applying brake, brake light was on, when applied brake lights on. There was mechanic in group he checked, said could be wiring and take to dealer. Takata recall - I'm having various issues. Majority of the issues are in motion when driving on highway or street way. The issue is recall id (212567) the steering is faulty the wheel goes left and right. Recall id(204873) problems with disengaging cruise control and break system as well as traction control I get this issue during any time recall id(201888) (201887)power train issues, car swerving to other lane on high way and street roads, emissions issue , as well as rolling issue the wiring is not correctly working, as well the fuel pump doesn't get fuel I must turn the key push the gas until the car starts when refilling the tank the seats don't move front or back.

Again after my 3rd visit to joseph Chevrolet with my car and a new file # 71-1300874571 joseph chev charged me $269. 16 to replace the brake switch and repair wiring at bpp switch. I pleaded with joseph chev and gm that the car was unsafe driving with brake lights not working properly and they should not be charging me over $800. 00 for a defect that is happening on other Saturn Aura vehicles. Having brake lights I thought was a basic function. They would not help me out with the charges. I had to spend the money because the car was unsafe to drive.
