Other Fuel System Pump Problems of Saturn Aura

Since new, we have had passenger air bag issues, not sensing an adult passenger. Brakes have been operating poorly, with rear pads wearing out, and front not. Four new master cylinders, pads & rotors with no improvement. Now mid 2018, strong gasoline smell from under rear of vehicle. I have seen where other Saturns, have a fuel leak relating to the fuel pump fuel lines. I suspect the same for our car. Doesn't matter how full the tank is, and of course it is parked. Should be a recall on this defect. We live in texas where it is hot. We now have about 130,000miles on the car.

The contact owns a 2007 Saturn Aura. The contact discovered fuel leaking under the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer (pearson Buick/GMC in sunnyvale, California) where it was diagnosed that the fuel pump was faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. The failure mileage was 72,000.

When parking after a drive of any length, strong gasoline odor from tank area. After research, found it is a common fuel pump problem that was in fact recalled on the Saturn ion of the same year model. To date no recalls or TSB's have been issued. I feel this is very dangerous and would like to have it fixed.

Case # with GMC is 81598832107 9/30/15 was at left turn lane to go in my neighbor hood put in park to grab something of the floor when I put back into drive my car started to reverse. Put it back into park and then drive and the same thing. Lucky I had my neighbor behind me him and others help me push it to a safe zone very close to my house, pushed it half way on drive way and put in park and it rolled across the street while trying to stop it I put myleft foot down caused more pain due to me recent surgery. This car has been to GMC for the recall cable 3 times, this time they said they only place half of it and will now replace the whole cable. Was called on 9/30 5 hours at the shop and was told it was ready, I explained that I don't feel safe driving this car. Too many times for the same cable. . . . I've also had a issue with the smell of gas coming from the car but could not see any fuel, so I took to a mechanic and had them look at it and said te top of the fuel pump was cracked I had them replace the whole pump. . . There was fuel leaking under my seat, I have now seen there is other Saturn Aura with the same problem. I don't feel safe driving this car this a big issue and if GMC and I can come to an agreement it will be easy agreement. I was really glad that I did no give this car to my young nephew who knows what would of happened. . . . . .

Gas fumes were detected when car taken in for annual smog certificate, after inspection gas leak detected coming from fuel pump, gas on top of gas tank.

Fuel smell, took to Saturn authorized service center, replaced fuel pump at a cost of $1272. 13. Afterward, I found online reports of possible fuel pump defect for 2007 Saturn Aura but couldn't find information to verify if the car qualifies for any repair or reimbursement.

Had to replace a faulty fuel pump that cracked at the fuel line port and caused gasoline to leak from the fuel pump assembly and possibly cause a fire. Very similar to an open recall on 2007 Saturn ions, but there is currently no recall against the Aura fuel system. . .
