Seat Belt Problems of Saturn Aura

The contact owns a 2007 Saturn Aura. The contact stated that after purchasing the vehicle, it was discovered that the front driver’s side seat belt would not lock or remain secured. Additionally, the power steering was inoperable causing the steering wheel to be very difficult to turn in either direction. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The local dealer was notified of the failure. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was 180,000.

The contact owns a 2008 Saturn Aura. While the vehicle was parked, the front passenger side seat belt failed to latch. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 122,000.

I was driving north on the hwy and the other person ran a stop sign and t-boned me on the driver side. My face and body smashed into the drivers door causing sever whiplash and some other things yet identified by an orthopedic surgeon. The drivers door and rear drivers door is smashed all the way to the seats, pushing on the seats and none of the airbags deployed. I am still seeing doctors to figure out what is wrong with my shoulder, neck and back. Needless to say medical care is still needed.

My husband was alone driving, was early a. M. When a coyote ran out on country road. He has had this many times before having lived in the area over 60+ yrs. He was in 2 lane road, he went to brake and swerved when he said the car became unable to control, he hit the burn on side of road flipping car numerous times ending upside down. He was stuck in seat belt unable to get loose for 15 min finally getting out of it. He was seen by drs @ hospital and released with bruised ribs, cuts and abrasions. When I talked to him on phone later he relates what had happened also saying "it seemed like the car had a mind of its own, it wouldn' t steer or brake right. " I told him to rest and I would talk to him later. That was the last time I ever talked to him, as he died of the blunt force trama from that accident, that was oct 7, 2014. I believe his vehicle is to blame for this accident, as I know what kind of driver he is, off road , around our rural area animals are always jumping out on the road, and he never has had a accident. He doesn't panic, he knows how to drive off road, and have raced in score off road functions in he younger days. He was an excellent driver, driving others, because he didn't drink, and was very safe in driving.

When I put the car in drive the break lights stay on criuse control don't work.

Hard steering sometime very diffuclt to make turns without force. Taken car to dealership traction control light on continuously, seat belt light on passenger side lights up and stays on. While car is moving. . Dealer has no salution for problem.

When I have a passenger in the front seat the passenger air bag off light flashes from off to on. I talked to my local dealer and was told that it may be a seat sensor and would have to be replaced at my expense. This started happening about two years ago.

Seat belt alert on dash keeps telling me that the seat belt for the driver is not buckled even when driver is buckled in. This is a recurring issue that had been handled under a warranty claim by replacing the dash cluster after many trips to the dealer. The first time it was replaced under manufacturer warranty. Now the issue has returned and gm is refusing any sort of replacement or diagnosis on this issue even though it deals with passenger safety. I have owned this vehicle since it was new and have on going issues with the dash cluster and it malfunctioning with gm telling me every time that they will no longer fix it. I would hate to see someone in my family hurt as a result of the seat belt not locking in an accident because the electronics do not see the seat belt as being buckled.

The heated seats comes on its own on both driver and passenger sides. The passenger seat belt light comes on when no one is in the front passenger seat. The service air bag light illuminates often when starting the car and when I turn car off and restart it goes out. . . But lately it stays on longer.

Even when my seat belts are buckled my seatbelt/airbags are dinging both passenger and drivers side. . . This is very annoying and needs to be addressed ASAP. I havent had any accidents but feel they should be fixed for safety purposes.

As I was driving over a bridge I heard a loud snap/thunk sound from under my seat. . All of a sudden my seat started leaning to the right. . After I pulled over and looked at it I found a weld on the metal bar under the seat had snapped. . The car is not really safe to drive due to it leaning to the right and everytime you brake or hit the gas or turn you constantly lean and bounce back and forth. . I have now seen multiple reports of this happening.
