Transmission Not Go Into Gear Problems of Saturn Aura

The car does not seem to go into park when you do think you have it in park it isn't another gear and as lurched out and almost smashed a couple people that have helped me with the car it also seems to have a tendency to roll because it is not fully going in the park and I cannot even start it.

The plastic casing on the shifter cable has broken and the sprag on the at transmission is bad. . . . Or so I have been told. It is in the driveway now with the abc, brake, traction control and esc lights lit as well as error codes p0449 & p2101. I have temp repaired the shifter cable and it will shift through the gears but will not go into gear. I was driving down I-635 when it stopped going into gear.

The vehicle will not shift into gears properly. When the gear is placed in park, the vehicle will roll in reverse, and, trying to place it in drive takes about 5 to 10 minutes. Once its in drive slot, the vehicle will not not go forward.

Tl- the contact owns a 2007 Saturn Aura. The contact stated that there was a failure with the gears not properly been engaged while in any gear with no warning. The contact had experienced the gears rolling from park, reverse or drive and had to apply the emergency brake to prevent a catastrophic crash. In addition, the on star system (voice command) kept activating as well as the radio which had started on their own, along with an internal electrical wiring failure. The vehicle was taken to larry puckett Chevrolet, 2101 cobbs Ford rd, prattville, al 36066, (334) 223-4481 several times who had not provided a permanent fix to the multiple failures yet. The manufacturer was notified of the failures and the contact was waiting on the technical guidelines to repair the vehicle. The approximate failure mileage was not available. Dyd.

I was on my way home from work, during rush hour, on March 22, 2016 and noticed that I was having difficulty accelerating past 40 mph. The vehicle felt as if it was not shifting gears. I thought about going directly to the dealer for service but could not accelerate past 25 mph at that point. I was able to make it home safely and had the car towed to the dealer the very next day. The dealer called to inform me that there were several issues with the most expensive being a transmission tear down with repair or replacement. This should be covered under service bulletin #14404. I am very disappointed with the number of recalls I have had on my vehicle. It has just been paid off and now I feel it is turning into a money pit and a death trap. I have received service bulletin #15356 but not #14404 which seems to apply to my issue. Prior to this date, I had not experienced any known transmission issues.

Was driving my car up a hill it would not shift gears there was also a burning smellthe car just stop moving in the middle of traffic we were going about 45 miles per hour it would go and jerk to the next gear and then all of a sudden stop there were cars who swerved to move out of the highway as well as other pedestrians.

Vehicle has been stuttering during shifting for about a week. As of three days ago it would not go into 3rd gear or over 40mph. Today it stalled in the middle of the street. I was able to get to a safe location, but now it will not reverse, go into any gears or even go to neutral.

While trying to figure out what to do, I went on line to look up any recalls there maybe on the transmission and found the recall on the gear shift. . I called the gm recall center and they stated there were no open recalls on my VIN #, but they instructed me to have the car towed to there selected dealer. . I towed the car again to daniel longs at 670 automotive dr colorado springs, CO. . (719)632-5591. . . I phoned the NHTSA to report the incident and was given a ref # 599701, but I was not given any other instruction. . Since that time the dealer has given me a estimate of 3500. 00, with 10% off. . But they are charging me for the parts even mentioned in the recall. . Is that legal ? updated 02/07/lj.

Put car in park and took foot off brake and car began to roll. Doors did not unlock automatically when put into park as they usually do. Now car will start, but not shift out of gear. It will also get "stuck" in park.

Transmission stopped shifting, could not get any gear. Mechanic says it is the typical 3-5-r wave plate issue.

The vehicle was towed to the dealer where the dealer advised the contact that the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired the manufacturer was not contacted. The failure and the current mileage was 90,000. Updated 1/15/13 the consumer stated at the time of the failure the gears were shifting improperly. The contact owns a 2007 Saturn Aura. The contact stated that the driver parked on an incline and the vehicle rolled backward upon releasing the brake pedal. The driver then attempted to shift into another gear, but the vehicle remained in drive. The driver shut the vehicle off and was unable to restart it. The vehicle was not taken to have the failure diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was 51,116.

This vehicle is a major safety concern for me. This car started jerking out of nowhere when I was on my way home from work. The other major problem it has is that if I have the car in one gear it forces itself to drive in another gear. I try to switch gears and that became almost impossible to do. This car did not switch to the correct gear when I was driving amidst traffic. A car could have easily toppled me over with this car not wanting to drive when I know that it is in the right gear. Most every other Saturn has had plenty of issues in regards to recalls. How this car seems to escape the same fate is beyond me. I never thought that I would be posting anything negative about my car but this needs to be brought to attention. This car is more of a safety issue than any other car I have previously owned.
