One problem related to tire sidewall has been reported for the 2007 Saturn ION. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
In two separate incidents we were driving at speeds of, 65, and 55 mph respectively when we heard a loud thumping noise. The first time on the front passenger's side tire as soon as we pulled over it blew out. The second time on the front driver's side tire when we felt around on the inside of the tire we could feel a knot on the sidewall, where it was about to fail just like the first.
