The rpms jump around and the a/c makes noise and lights flicker at times. The car will just stall in the middle of an intersection or when I'm turning onto another road. It's quite scary with children in the car. My main concern is a large SUV put it in reverse and hit the front of my car before ending up on the hood near the windshield. She was going pretty fast and pushed my car pretty far but no airbag! then on a separate occasion I was doing 55 miles when a large animal darted out in front of me. My front end and radiator and front end were shot. Even split my passenger side dash open and had to be towed off but no airbags!! exactly how do I have to be going for me to have protection????.

After owning this car for a few years now and becoming highly involved in the forums. I've learned that it's a common issue for the clock spring to break. When it does, it cuts power permanently to the driver air bag, and cruise control until repaired. This is a big safety concern as no power to the airbag would result in more serious injury or possibly death.

Was on way home car started going to the right and when tried to correct it car wouldn't turn left kept going into a tree and car is now damaged. Over two months ago gm sent out somebody to look at car this was around October 15 and have not heard a word back from anybody. Which isn't a surprise because the accident happened September 13 and we were given the run around from the beginning. Appointments made and not kept, phone calls transferred from one person to another all with different answers and responses. My question to you is when is somebody going to contact us and give us some answers? I took the car in for the first call back and had no problems but this is ridiculous, not only has nothing been done or said but the air bags didn't even go off but the car had to be towed away and the adjuster you sent out said he didn't know why as we were told it was because it was between the censors. I wasn't born yesterday but didn't say anything was waiting for the report. Still waiting, I know we live in a rural area but three months is a little long to wait don't you think?.

The car is presently under recall for ignition. However. The car cannot be driven as the pwr str warning comes on for a few seconds, and no steering or severe loss of all steering control of the vehicle is lost after the car has run for 15 minute and every 5 plus minutes after the first failure. Gm will not fix anything on my vehicle, I made a complaint with NHTSA and have made internal complaint at gm regarding my 2007 Ion and the 3 accidents due to the loss of ignition and total power including break failure going down the highway at 50 plus and losing control resulting in accidents. I need help to start the complaint about the power steering as it will not allow me to safely drive the car at all. I am disabled and on oxygene, I have requested special accomidations from gm to assist with my disabled condition to help expadite any repairs and all warranted coverages for power steering, air bag non function, and recalled ignition. The car presently has 55,000 miles and cannot be driven as the power steering will not allow the car to be controlled. The previous, most recent accident, caused structural damage including a front fender complete bent and radiator bent at a tail collision due to ignition outage with no breaks at 30 plus mph. No air bags deployed, only damages to myself, blindness to left eye and severe concossion, and car is not safe to drive. Gm will has not taken any action since my phone complaints in April, almost 30 days ago. Anthony lombardo 937-938-1466 VIN 1g8aj55fx7z101428.
