Turn Signal problems of the 2000 Saturn LS

Three problems related to turn signal have been reported for the 2000 Saturn LS. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Turn Signal problem

Failure Date: 03/15/2016

The contact owns a 2000 Saturn Ls. While driving at any speed, the turn signal did not automatically disengage. The contact had to manually disengage the signal. There was no warning indicator. The vehicle was taken to a local mechanic who diagnosed that the turn signal cancel cam assembly needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 7,704.

2 Turn Signal problem

Failure Date: 09/17/2004

There were a number of near misses because of a defect in the brake lights/turn signal.

3 Turn Signal problem

Failure Date: 08/11/2003

Rear turn signals and brakes lights work intermittently, new bulbs have been replaced 5 times; changed sockets from right to left lights and sometimes this will work for a while. Took to Saturn garage to check and they charged me $45. 00 labor and $1. 25 for a new bulb. They couldn't tell me why this problem keeps reoccurring. I took my Saturn Ls, 2000 into them to find the cause for this problem but received no results; unless they consider a new bulb a final fix. But the problem reoccured 2 days afterwards. I switched the sockets from right to left in the rear lights and now they are working but for how long I do not know. I just found out through my September issue of highways magazine that a recall on exterior lighting: turn signal switch was recalled in July of 1999 of the 2000 models; I purchased my Ls 2000 Saturn in April of 2000. I was never notified of a recall.
