Failure Date: 02/13/2014

I was driving the vehicle down the freeway at 65 mph when the battery light came on and shut off. Within the next minute the coolant light came on and shut off and then the car seized right there on the freeway. The car would not start so we had to have it towed. Once the shop looked at it they diagnosed that the tensioner had broke and the serpentine belt had melted. We are now looking at having to replace the entire engine.

5 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 10/06/2013

I brake hard to avoid an animal in the road. When I stepped on the gas the car would not move. When I put it in park, the car would roll. Upon inspection, the frame had buckled, causing the cv joint to fall out. I did not hit anything or go off the road. All I did was hit the brakes and the framed collapsed in the area of right front a-arm.

Under cruise control at speed, hill prompted a downshift and engine immediately stalled. Would not restart.

Good afternoon, I am a the original Saturn owner who never received recall information regarding my 2001 Saturn l series. I have experienced various problems that directly correlate to the recall listed below: recall 07v519000-pertaining to engine and engine cooling potential number of units affected: 20,514 summary: on certain passenger vehicles equipped with a 2. 2l 4-cylinder engine, links in the engine's timing chain can separate. Consequence: if a timing chain link separates while the engine is running, the engine will stall and will not restart increasing the risk of a crash. Remedy: dealers will replace the timing chain free of charge. The recall began on January 15, 2008. Owners may contact Saturn at 1-800-972-8876. The recall listed above has effected our vehicle on two different occasions; the first of which was fixed out of our own pocket for $4,614. 29 on 9/18/12. I have receipts to prove these repairs. Also, this recall effected our vehicle a second time on 12/4/2014. Unfortunately, due to our current circumstances we are unable to fix this vehicle out of our own pocket again. We love this car, and hope you can be of assistance. Thank you in advance.

10 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 10/01/2009

I own a 2001 Saturn l200, about two years ago I replaced my engine due to my timing chain breaking and causing internal damage. I recently had the same problem happen and need to replace the engine again. After researching this problem I found that their are many people with this problem. If Saturn knows this situation is such a big problem why cant they be made responsible? I just don't think its right that so many incidents are going unanswered. . Thank you for the chance for our problem to be heard.

11 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 05/15/2009

My wife was driving to work and the timing chain became defective. I had to load it on a trailer and take it to a garage. The top side of the motor is ruined. I don't know what we are going to do with the car. The sedan is a 2001 Saturn l200 with the 2. 2 4cylinder.

12 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 09/06/2008

The contact owns a 2001 Saturn l200. While driving less than 45 mph, the vehicle stalled and came to a complete stop. There were no warning lights illuminated on the instrument panel. He was unable to restart the vehicle. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic and it was discovered that the timing belt needed to be replaced. The failure and current mileages were 67,000.

13 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 05/15/2003

I bought the car brand new and it was in the shop two weeks later. So far I've gone through 2 catalytic converters, 2 electronic control modules. I think only one coil, with a couple oxygen sensors to go along with that. Both of the cylinders have gone out on the clutch. I'm still waiting for Saturn to call me on an air check valve that supposedly failed. As for the power locks, they just seem to lock or not to lock when they feel fit to do so. I also get a service light that comes on when it feels like it to. . . . .
