Three problems related to seats have been reported for the 2001 Saturn LS. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
While driving my cars idle dropped and stalked my car in the middle of a turn. I got it restsrted and made it home. The next day driving out of town with infant in the back it stalled again. This time leaving us stranded in a intersection. Kind people pushed us off the busy roadway I had to have it towed my husband discovered it was my iac valve. To replace this its over 150 dollars it continues to leave me stranded when I turn and when im in a intersection! my interior on my drivers seat has sunk to below the metal seat frame I have to sit on pillows to see properly!.
Traveling home from work in rush hour traffic smoke started coming up from under the drivers side seat. I was in the left lane of traffic and had to work my way across to get off the highway. While crossing lanes the back of the seat started giving away and lowered to a reclining and almost laying down position. I thought the car was on fire and especially the seat. I made it to the road side, got out of my car and frantically called the Saturn dealer for help. The person on the phone told me my car was out of warranty and she could not help me. She suggested I call my insurance agency. Not only am I frightened over what I just went through but now I'm stranded because Saturn does not give roadside service help if you are just out of warranty.
2001 Saturn, purchased June 2001, had to replace rear tires twice due to alignment problems. Currently I have about 41000 miles on the l300. The tires were firestone affinity. Also the drivers seat has shifted to the right, dealer will not repair under warranty. The deck lid is misaligned and after several attempts, it is still not right.
