While driving 35 mphand upon trying to stop the vehicle, the vehicle accelerated, and the brakes failed. Consumer stated that she had both feet on the brake pedal, trying to stop the vehicle. She then pulled the emergency brake. Contacted the dealer, and was told the brake would always over power the engine. Please provide any further information. Also, provide vehicle identification number, and make corrections where needed.

2 Brakes Failed problem of the 2000 Saturn LS

Failure Date: 06/02/2003

When the vehicle was placed in reverse the brake pedal went to the floor and the vehicle continue to move although the driver kept pushing the brake pedal. As a result of the brake failure the consumer vehicle hit a parked vehicle which caused damage. The vehicle was taken to the dealer but they could not determine the cause of the problem. The consumer believes that the abs system may be the cause of the problem.
