Power steering randomly goes out and returns causing jerky lurching turns couple years now since reaching over 100k mileage, have 173k miles currently. Is now leaking fluid. Pcv valve replaced twice, not recalled but mechanics have said it's common for my vehicle, causes hesitation while idling like it's trying to stall out. Have had to put foot on brake and rev gas at stoplights. Airbag light has been on for years, passenger side doesn't detect. Although recall, dealership wants to charge diagnostic fees even when I had done for free at local parts store and gave them code, they say have to do their own. Passenger window does not roll down, but does roll up, with driver's side controls, does work with passenger side controls. Sometimes driver's side window sticks too either up/down have to bang on door for it to engage. Speakers haven't worked properly in years either.
Service air bag light is on.
Tl the contact owns a 2008 Saturn Outlook. The contact stated that the sun roof leaked each time it rained. The water traveled across the top of the vehicle, onto the windshield, and into the dashboard. The vehicle was taken to stuteville Chevrolet Buick GMC of ponca city (3330 n 14th st, ponca city, ok 74601, (580) 749-5976) where the body control was replaced; however, the failure continued. The contact stated that the vehicle needed a new battery due to the water that was leaking onto the battery. The battery was replaced. The contact also stated that the ppm chip for the air bag was missing, which caused the air bag warning indicator to illuminate. The contact stated that the VIN was not included in NHTSA campaign number: 14v118000 (air bags). The contact also stated that the vehicle would lurch forward when in park or drive. The contact stated that the vehicle was taken back to the same dealer, but was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failures. The failure mileage was 148,564.
The sensor in my passenger seat does not sence that a passenger is sitting there, therefore will not deploy in a crash. The car has been doing this since I bought it new but I didn't recognize the problem because I assumed that it was because my children were too light to register. So I made them sit in the back. Now that they are teenagers they sit in the front, the airbag on off lights flips back and forth to on off while driving now the service airbag light comes on. Contacted gm they said my car is too old and will not be considered. The dealership wants 900. 00 to fix which I don't have. To me this car is dangerous for a front seat passenger.
I have an airbag light going on my dashboard. I was told it was the (pps) passenger presence system module and would cost ~$1500 to replace. I have seen other people complain about this and why it isn't part of a recall. Can I get information if this will be subject of a recall? thanks.
My passenger airbag light stays on, on the dash and when someone is sitting in the seat sometimes it will show on but most of the time it's off. We took it in to have the recall for the wiring done but it still stays on.
The contact owns a 2008 Saturn Outlook. While driving at 65 mph, the air bag light failed to illuminate when a passenger was occupying the seat. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 97,000.
Tl- the contact owns a 2008 Saturn Outlook. The contact stated that the air bag light and the service air bag light illuminated and stayed on, when the vehicle was turned on. The vehicle was taken to the keyes Chevrolet dealer (818-254-8277, located at 5943 van nuys blvd, los angele's, CA 91401) where it diagnosed that the modular kit needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and stated that nothing could be done due to the age of the vehicle. The failure was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 89,000. Fe.
The passenger airbag light indicator showed off when a (heavy enough) passenger was sitting in the front passenger seat. This would happen intermittently. When I took it in to be checked, they said I needed a software update (done without asking for a cost of $62. 98). When I called gm, they said airbags were my responsibility after the warranty period ended. Shouldn't they be responsible for software problems with airbags. I have onstar, if a software issue was occurring, it seems they would tell me.
I filed a complaint under number 106110651 on the 15th of July, 2014. In this complaint, I inadvertently said the driver side seat belt light went on. What I intended to say was that the air bag light has gone on. Please refer to the aforementioned complaint for ongoing information. Thank you for getting back to me in a timely basis.
The contact owns a 2008 Saturn Outlook. The contact stated that the air bag warning indicator illuminated. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer stated that the VIN was excluded from NHTSA campaign number: 14v118000 (air bags). The failure mileage was 95,500.
The service airbag light comes on when the car goes over a bump or when a person shifts position in the front passenger seat. Apparently this is a widespread issue and the subject of several service bulletins. Gm has not issued a recall for this problem.
Service airbag light came on on the dash and goes out then comes back on. Sometimes it stays lite sometimes it doesn't come on at all, until you lean in the seat.
Started up vehicle and "service air bag" indicator message and light came on.
Service air bag indicator message keeps coming on and then going off while I am driving car.
When a passenger is seating in the front seat, the air bag light indicator will say off instead of on.
At around 50k miles on my 2008 Saturn Outlook passenger air bag light came on and stayed on. After taking it to a local kia dealer, which used to be a Saturn dealer, they informed me that the sensor in the passenger seat was defective and the entire module would need to be replaced at a cost of over $1200. By searching the internet, this seems to be a very common issue and needs to be recalled.
The contact owns a 2008 Saturn Outlook. The contact entered the vehicle and was unable to activate the low beam headlight passenger side. The high beam headlights would function but not the low beams. Took the vehicle to a repair shop and was informed that the wiring harness was melted. The wiring harnesses was replaced. The VIN was not available. The failure and current mileage was 42,000. The consumer received an air bag recall notice. Even though the air bag light was not on, the consumer took the vehicle to the dealer anyway. Six months later, the air bag light illuminated. The consumer was under the assumption, the issue was taken care of. However, the dealer stated the problem was a seat module and it was not covered by the recall. Updated 01/21/15.
My 2008 Saturn Outlook's passenger side airbag indicator light shows 'off' even when an adult is sitting in the seat with the seatbelt on. I saw there was a recall for the 2007 model but not one issued for the 2008 model. I wanted to report this problem due to the seriousness if there is an accident and the bag is not functional.
The contact owns a 2008 Saturn Outlook. The stated that while driving approximately 50 mph, the passenger's side air bag warning indicator illuminated intermittently. The failure occurred when the front passenger's seat was occupied or vacant. There was a recall under NHTSA campaign id number 14v118000 (air bags), however the VIN was not included. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the problem. The approximate failure mileage was 100,000.
The contact owns a 2008 Saturn Outlook. While driving at an unknown speed she noticed the air bag light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer who was unable to diagnose the failure but the computer system was reset to clear the air bag light. The failure recurred four times. After each failure the vehicle was taken back to an authorized dealer where various repairs were performed; however, the failure continued to occur. The failure mileage was 13,241. The current mileage was 40,000.
