Airbag sensor on passenger seat stays off even when passenger is in seat. I have read many complaints from same vehicle since they were new. Also has electrical issues intermittently possibly from water leaking thru sunroof.

2 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 07/14/2021

Multiple time my vehicle became wet in the inside due to a sun roof drainage tube issue. My vehicle stopped while in motion and there was a burning smell. Now none of my windows will go up and the car no longer starts. I have a loud knocking sound coming from the dash when I turn the heater or ac on. Now my dash shows service theft deterrent system. The first time I thought maybe the tube was clogged. I now come to find out that is was/is a on going issue with gm. I could've lost my life or been possibly rear-ended at highway speed due to gm not knowing how to make a sunroof.

3 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 06/26/2021

My low beam headlight started to intermittently go out for a while. Then it went out completely. I go to replace the bulb only to find that the bulb wasn’t the actual issue. The harness, wires, and socket to the bulb were blackened, burnt and melted. So now it all needs to be replaced. I’ve seen on several forums that has happened to so many people that have a car manufactured by gm. The original wiring is not quality enough for the heat and current that goes through there.

10 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 10/01/2019

Water leak from sunroof.

11 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 07/01/2019

When I first got the vehicle in 2017 it was always parked in the garage so the problem wasn't noticed until I stopped using the garage. When it rains a lot water is leaking through the front sunroof which is then draining underneath the hood of the car in the electrical area and finally leaking through the front passenger side floor boards. It caused electrical issues with the Outlook because of the initial sunroof clog. Also the car could be driven but when you turned off the vehicle it would not shut down. I've seen many issues of the same problem that other owners are having as well with their Outlooks. If the numbers are there from people complaining I'm not understanding why this hasn't been investigated and turned into a recall. What starts as a sunroof leak can easily and quickly lead to thousands of dollars worth of repairs because the water is leaking under the hood area.

12 Electrical System problem

I have had several issues since day one transmission replaced at 40k miles they only rebuilt so have had issues ever since still having issues ever since major electrical dashboard goes dark when driving flashes after it rains I loose power steering when driving for literally a minute sunroof leaks through airbags service has been checking for over 3 years now other issues I had prior to your extended warranties however no im over the 120k mile limit this vehicle has continual dangerous issues and now that you no longer manufacturer I feel gmac doesn't care and the cost to fix when repais are needed are outrageous I am now at 200k miles however this all started from the beginning through warranty and with the bulk once warranty expired this is a dangerous vehicle the steering and electrical alone.

18 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 04/24/2017

The speakers in will randomly stop working. Most of the time most of the speakers work, but often the only speakers working will be both in the drivers door and the tweeter in the passenger door, all other speakers are dead. Sometimes when I hit a bump some speakers will start working then fail again.

19 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 04/19/2017

There is a leak in both corners of the sunroof allowing water to leak down into the console affecting the performance of the airbags. There are drain holes on both sides of the sun roof but the water dosent go down. The water damaged several wires under the passenger seat and it also damaged the fuel box. I did not know this until I started the car and saw smoke coming from the passenger side floorand under glove box. I took it to the repair shop where he showed me the burned fuse box and also a puddle of water underneath the passenger seat and the wires under the seat were also burned . This car has a defect in the sunroof allowing water to drain into the consol onto wires and they catch fire.

20 Electrical System problem

Tl the contact owns a 2008 Saturn Outlook. The contact stated that the transmission intermittently would not shift out of gear and the check engine warning indicator illuminated. In addition, the air bag warning indicator illuminated and there was an abnormal noise coming from the dashboard. The vehicle was taken to kool Chevrolet Buick GMC (810 w chicago rd, sturgis, mi) where it was determined that the sensor in the transmission was defective and needed to be replaced. While driviving you can hear water moving around throughout the body of the car and there is also water in the doors have shorted out the speakers this is not normal wear and tear. My car also remains on when the key is in the off position.

23 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 10/13/2016

Tl the contact owns a 2008 Saturn Outlook. The contact stated that the sun roof leaked each time it rained. The water traveled across the top of the vehicle, onto the windshield, and into the dashboard. The vehicle was taken to stuteville Chevrolet Buick GMC of ponca city (3330 n 14th st, ponca city, ok 74601, (580) 749-5976) where the body control was replaced; however, the failure continued. The contact stated that the vehicle needed a new battery due to the water that was leaking onto the battery. The battery was replaced. The contact also stated that the ppm chip for the air bag was missing, which caused the air bag warning indicator to illuminate. The contact stated that the VIN was not included in NHTSA campaign number: 14v118000 (air bags). The contact also stated that the vehicle would lurch forward when in park or drive. 26 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 04/06/2016

Sporadically, water leaks from the ceiling air vents/rear view camera/ a-braces/ airbag covers and basically any other place water can come out of. I have had it to the GMC dealer 2x to look for the issue but they cannot replicate. In viewing information online (specifically edmonds. Com) it appears that this has been a well known problem since the auto was manufactured - I am just lucky that mine has been sporadic. It has not effected components of the vehicle yet, but if it keeps happening I have little doubt that there will be issues - parts corroding, electrical issues, etc. As mentioned earlier, it baffles me that there are 18 pages of identical complaints, yet the manufacturer has never been made to do anything about it - an idiot can tell that there has to be some manufacturer defect to have that # of occurences. I really don't expect anything to come of my issue, but wanted to document what has happened in case there are more serious issues later such as an accident caused by equipment failure due to water damage - it is only a matter of time before this defect causes serious harm to someone.

27 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 03/27/2016

After a heavy storm rainwater leaked into the cabin of my parked and unoccupied vehicle through the factory installed sunroof, which was fully closed. The water also leaked into the cabin behind the glove box, under the dash, and through the headliner. This resulted in rainwater getting into the fuse box causing electrical corrosion and the rear wiper to malfunction. Besides the potential safety issue, an electrical malfunction while driving or fire, there is also a health issue of mold in the headliner and under the carpeting. As a result of the water getting inside the car the headliner is now permanently water stained and the carpeting was soaked. The dealership "blew out" the drain tubes but could not guarantee this would fix the problem. I was further advised of a GMC customer satisfaction recall on this car (08207a) which expired on 09/30/09 and that this repair was never done on my vehicle, based on a check of the VIN. I contacted Saturn directly on 04/04/16 who refused to pay for this customer satisfaction recall since it expired 7 years ago. I've gotten more water inside my car since my trip to the dealership and was advised that the approximate cost to extend the drain tubes, as recommended on the customer satisfaction recall, would be at least $500. 00. This price does not include replacing the headliner, the carpeting, possible mold removal, or repairing/replacing the fuse box. My main concerns are for the safety and well being of my small children while riding in this car.

28 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 03/06/2016

While driving in the rain, water comes in from the sunroof running thru the airbags and has shorted my speakers and played havoc with my electrical system in general. The radio/car wouldn't turn off which drained the battery (which I've replace three times in a three year span) after the key was removed. I've had the drainage tube replaced several times but it still happens. My driver's side carpet stays wet and now it has a mildew smell and I've had to replace the floor mats twice. 3/6/16 was the latest occurrence.

29 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 12/18/2015

The sunroof leaks when it is closed, and this is causing water to come in to the roof of the vehicle. Water is coming in from the front air bags, the windshield, under the dash, out of the garage door opener, the visor, and the back seat belts. I now have to replace the body control module which is related to the water damaging the unit. I am fearful the with the water getting in by the airbags that if I get into an accident they will malfunction. I have also been receiving messages about servicing the stabilitrac, but when I have had it looked at the mechanic can't find anything wrong, so this could also be related to the body control module.

30 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 12/14/2015

When it rains my 2008 Saturn Outlook will continue to run even after the key is removed from the ignition. My battery drains down for no reason and my radio will not turn off when the driver door is open. I have recently started smelling an extremely fowl smell that comes and goes. The speakers in my car work when they want to. I believe there is a short in my car that is causing these problems.

31 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 08/30/2015

As a result of inclement weather, water has been able to access the interior of the vehicle which resulted in malfunctioning of electrical components of the overhead accessories. Sunroof has been stuck into open position and was not able to retract the sunroof back into the closed position.

32 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 06/18/2015

Ac blower stopped working do to water coming in from sunroof. Contacted Saturn they told me since it is out of warranty they cannot do anything. Even if it is a manufacturer defect. Wow unbelievable. Poor customer service. Dealer wants $75 do diagnose the problem then $700 to fix the water leak and $500 for blower motor. They can keep the car for those prices. This is unacceptable someone needs to regulate these dealers and car companies better. No Saturn or gm for my family.

33 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 04/15/2015

My car was just purchased 3 months ago and it is leaking water heavy into the driver and passenger compartment from the roof area into the headliner, a lot of sloshy while driving from roof area the carpet creating mold, bad odors and possible electrical issue with water dripping on defrost blower near drivers wheel well prior corrosion present there.

34 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 02/12/2015

I had just left a stop light when the service brake system light came on immediately followed by the stabilitrac system is off . Had to pull into a parking lot turn off engine for about 20 seconds to reset system . It happened again today in the parking lot at the local walmart . I'm afraid to take a long trip. Also have a problem with noise in the sterring collum . GMC dealer says the rack and pinion is rubbing and needs to be replaced . The car has never been in an accident . How can this happen ?.

35 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 12/02/2014

Passenger airbag seat sensor/module doesn't recognize a passenger in no matter the weight. Dealership wants $900 for new part. This is a safety issue not a wear and tear issue and should be resolved by gm.
