36 Equipment problem of the 2008 Saturn Outlook

Failure Date: 12/15/2014

Water is entering the cabin when it rains, saturating the ceiling to the point of dripping. Also, the carpeting, and floor mats are soaked. I also noticed water in the motor blower area. May be leaking from several areas. This was the first time, since I purchased the vehicle that it has been left out in the rain over night. I've washed the vehicle, driven in rain, and never noticed anything wrong. The time of exposure must have something to do with how much water gets in (obviously).

37 Equipment problem of the 2008 Saturn Outlook

Failure Date: 12/01/2014

The sun roof leaks and a large amount of water had collected inside the battery terminal which is located under and behind the front passenger's seat. Since then, water continues to leak in from the sun roof "tubes" which have been cleaned out several time. I have had water that puddles under the carpeting in the front and rear seat and has effected the electrical. There are numerous instances posted and youtube videos of folks who have also dealt with this issue. It's a shame that it has not been addressed. Gm has no resolution and the dealership charges $50 to "blow out the lines" I. E. Using an air hose to blow air through the tubes. It's obvious the sun roof is not properly sealed and the tubes (drains as they are referred to by the dealership) are not full proof. The water also leaks from the side airbag curtains and the sun roof control panel.

38 Equipment problem of the 2007 Saturn Outlook

Failure Date: 11/26/2014

Purchased this 2007 Saturn Outlook in 2013 used with only around 80k miles on it. The previous owner did tell us about the leaking areas once the drains get clogged, my husband has been diligent cleaning them, but living in florida it rains heavy all the time. We noticed more and more frequently the inside dripping in the 3rd row, until many times, until this past November it rained heavy for 2 days and the water started coming thru what seemed to be from the ac vents on both rows, and through the front driver and passenger side walls very heavy, upon leaving work went to turn off the car took keys out twice and it would not shut off. So now there is the electrical areas being soaked, let it dry out cleaned drains again, and it just seems the more rain we have the more water comes in. Right now car is in garage since we had the same situation with rain and now it is dripping from everywhere. . Afraid to drive car since we know that the electrical system and wires are wet. I have a toddler whom I had to cover with a towel cause water was dripping on her. Gm needs to do something about this, before it caused a fire and could cause death too. This seems to be happening to too many families. . What are they waiting for???.

39 Equipment problem of the 2007 Saturn Outlook

Failure Date: 10/02/2014

Bought this 2007 Saturn Outlook new in April 2007. . August 2008 first time I noticed floor boards on passengers side wet, took to Saturn they said the drain line was clogged, oct 2008 back to Saturn they had a campaign to extend drain lines they did this. . November 2009 the drivers side is now leaking Saturn secured the drain hose for sunroof. My car has always been garaged until oct 2014. Now that it is parked out in the elements I have a major roof leak. Took it to gm on oct 2, 2014 as I now have wet/water stains on the passengers side headliner, they said the drain was clogged fixed in 2 minutes. We had rain for a week and on oct. 24, 2014 I now noticed wet/water stains on both sides and across the windshield, under the visors and the roof panel where the interior lights and controls are for the sunroof. Take to gm dealer they say the drivers side drain hose was clogged fixed in a minute. Back to gm on Nov 15, 2014 they now say the seal around the sunroof needs to be replaced, they replace seal. Nov 17, 2014 leak is worse than ever. I have now spent $500. 00 to have a leak fixed to no avail. I have searched the internet now and see this is not an isolated incident. 100's if not 1000's of gm Saturn Outlooks with and without sunroofs have leaky roofs. It is a design flaw and gm will not own up to it. This needs to be a recall item. I am now told to spend $2,150 to replace the sunroof bucket. After reading all the horror stories about this issue I do not believe there is a fix for gm's mistake. I have a case # with gm but they don't want to hear anything. Please issue a recall on this engineed design flaw.

40 Equipment problem of the 2010 Saturn Outlook

Failure Date: 08/13/2014

When driving slow forward or back, when turning the steering wheel, it locks up then will come loose, letting you turn the wheel. I understand there is a class action suit against gm by the chevy traverse owners for this same problem. Case number is [xxx], filed 3/12/13. Since I have a Saturn, that is a twin to the Chevrolet traverse and gm acadia. I think I have the same problem they are having in the steering. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

41 Equipment problem of the 2007 Saturn Outlook

Failure Date: 06/27/2014

While turning across 2 oncoming lanes into a shopping center in my 2007 Saturn Outlook, I suddenly had no power to the wheels. No power in drive or reverse. Luckily, no oncoming vehicles. Towed to dealership who advised transmission was destroyed. Cost to replace- $3950, and transmission is on back-order. Vehicle is still at dealership waiting for parts as of 07/06/14. Outlook was purchased new and has been serviced regularly. It has only been driven by my wife and I and has never been used to tow. Research has shown this to be too common of a safety problem for a vehicle with 58,000 miles.

42 Equipment problem of the 2008 Saturn Outlook

Failure Date: 05/11/2014

When stopped for a traffic light and light changed to green the car would not move (when foot put on the accelerator). After turning the car off and back on and put the car in drive, the car proceeded forward. Upon stopping the car again, and then pressing the accelerator the car would not move again. We had the car towed to the dealer, and they said they had to replace the transmission (for a cost of $5,019. 05). There are many complaints on the internet about this particular transmission. I am not the only one.

43 Equipment problem of the 2009 Saturn Outlook

Failure Date: 02/01/2014

Past 5 years check engine light on. Replaces plugs 3x, converters 3x, and everything including ignition coils 2x, light still on, stating converters need replacing. Car has been in the shop more than a hospital has emergency room patients. Engine light would stay off for a week or two, now only for 30-40 miles. Emissions says car not ready for testing. Vehicle drives and runs perfectly, purrs like a kitten, but now can't pass emissions. Chevy, Acura, repair shops, muffler shops and alley mechanics all baffled. Too many invoices to upload, but I have every one of them and receipts for parts if needed. This has been going on since I got the car. Chevy never could fix it. Each trip cost me $700+, but no solution, the problem just keeps escalating. Oh, I never put cheap gas in vehicle, and oil changes/ tune- up are up to date. Help please. (someone suggested the ecm computer is bad).

44 Equipment problem of the 2008 Saturn Outlook

Failure Date: 06/19/2013

During rains, leaks in the left rear in spare tire compartment, affecting the carpet, and flooding the back storage compartment.

45 Equipment problem of the 2007 Saturn Outlook

Failure Date: 04/01/2013

My 2007 Saturn Outlook continuously leaks water from the roof every time it rains. The leaking water is not one drip here and there, but a gush of water will come out of these areas and will continue to leak while it is raining. The water will drain out of the headliner, the airbag areas, the light fixtures, the seat belt areas all in the front and back of the car and will also drench the passenger and driver side floor boards. This has caused my car to have a musty moldy smell to it. I find it very discerning that after you purchase a vehicle, it will have these safety issues such as water leaking. I understand that these things happen, but I am afraid that this will cause a shortage with the wiring systems in my vehicle thus causing even more damage. Since the water started leaking from the roof, I have had airbag issues and windshield wiper issues (it runs constantly). I would not recommend this vehicle to anyone.

46 Equipment problem of the 2008 Saturn Outlook

Failure Date: 01/09/2013

When it is really cold outside and the wind is blowing, when I accerlate the traction control light comes and the it says power will be reduced. The power is reduced down to about 10 miles a hour. The first time it happened I called onstar and they told me to turn the vehicle off about 8 times giving time in between to reset something. At the time of this I was accerlating on to a dual highway with a infant in the car. So at appoint I took it to poage's in quincy ill, they flushed out something and then proceeded to tell me that they could probably fix it with a cost around $800. 00. I asked them if there was any others that had the same problem they said no. Come to find out a friend of mine has a 2007 Outlook and hers is doing the same thing. It only occurs when it is very cold outside and wind could be blowing. Poage said when it is really cold outthe air intake, air seems to be sucking up air under the fender, what they were going to try fixing it so the air would come off of the engine, it was like a vapor lock. The last time it occurred was the first week of January I was passing a car, once I accerated the power was reduced down to about 10 miles, same thing traction control comes on then it staes power will be reduced. There has to be a defect somewhere, I called GMC all the could say that there were no complaints, but in looking on the internet there have been others with the same complaints. Then they further said will it is a salvage title, I have had my Outlook since 02/09 had no complaints up until January 2013 when the weather relly got cold. I told GMC I was going to contact you and nothing was said. Also stated to them that if anything happens to me or anyone else in my vehicle. There will be a law suit.

47 Equipment problem of the 2008 Saturn Outlook

Failure Date: 12/24/2012

The struts on the lift gate of my Saturn Outlook failed to hold up while my sister and I were loading groceries. I saw the gate coming down as it was going to strike my sister in the head, and I reached from the side to prevent it from closing and got my index finger crushed in the lift gate and nearly severed off. I still to this day have multiple issues with my finger. I just revieved notice that there was a defect on the struts.

48 Equipment problem of the 2007 Saturn Outlook

Failure Date: 12/18/2012

Vehicle's transmission suddenly lost traction. Driving my child to school and suddenly the vehicle's transmission slipped and would not run. Was caught in the middle of an intersection with 5 year old and baby on board. Thankfully oncoming traffic saw us and slowed down to go around us.

49 Equipment problem of the 2007 Saturn Outlook

Failure Date: 07/30/2012

Leaking front sunroof of Saturn Outlook xe 2007. This has affected the wiring within the vehicle and causing other issues as well as the water continues to come into the vehicle. Multiple attempts to fix the problem have not solved it.

50 Equipment problem of the 2007 Saturn Outlook

Failure Date: 08/02/2011

There is an issue with all these vehicles with water leaking into the vehicles somewhere as of today 1/20/2012 the dealership has had my vehicle and can not find where the water is coming in. The water is leaking out thru the airbag areas, the seatbelt areas and the headliners onto the dash. I am worried about electrical problems. Gm/Saturn has had several complaints about this issue (edmunds. Com) shows a multitude of complaints but there yet has been any recall made to attempt to figure out this problem and not only that the dealership said I could be financially responsible for this and not gm/Saturn even though there are serious issues with this happening. This leak could if it has not already caused some type of electrical issues that have not been detected yet and I will be stuck because gm will not recall this item. They did have arecall for this in 08 but it doesn't seem to be holding up and I was actually told by a dealership that "I was screwed". Help us please.

51 Equipment problem of the 2008 Saturn Outlook

Failure Date: 04/08/2011

I own a 2008 Saturn Outlook and the low beam light on the passenger side went out, I took it to a gm dealer to replace the bulb. The dealer told me that it was not the bulb, but the harness or sleeve. They told me it was cost me $799. 00 that was a month ago. Now the other side has gone out too. I think they would do a call back, because I checked on line and found that there are a number of people with the same problem and complaints. My Outlook had 42,000 miles on it. I really need some help in this matter, I can't afford to fix this problem. I had to be bad from the beginning.

52 Equipment problem of the 2007 Saturn Outlook

Failure Date: 09/24/2010

I have experienced only issues all year with my 2007 Saturn Outlook. It has 55,000 miles and in June 2010 the wiring short circuited behind the steering wheel causing the theft security lock system to go into effect assuming the car was being hot-wired. It cost me over $300 to fix at the dealer and had to be towed. Then the dealer said my inside fuse box was completely corroded from water and they would need to fix the leak my sunroof was causing. The dealer has made 6 attempts to fix and I just picked up my car this morning, hopefully after the final attempt. Now my breaks are causing issues, the break pedal softens and goes down to almost the floor when pressed every 4th or 5th time and it is drinking brake fluid, I need to take it this weekend to check for a leak. Not to mention my power steering is making loud whining sounds every time that I move the steering wheel. Oh, and my passenger side low beam headlight has gone out a few times and my husband has had to access the back of it to replace it but it continues to go out. Oh, and my transmission caused problems two weeks ago and the dealer fixed it under my powertrain warranty. . 55,000 miles and this car is giving me issues as if I'm over 200,000 miles!.

53 Equipment problem of the 2008 Saturn Outlook

Failure Date: 02/17/2010

I am writing to tell you about a very dangerous situation that I experienced with my Saturn Outlook (VIN #[xxx]). My first accident happened in April 2008. I was parking my car in my garage. . . At a complete stop. . . . When the accelerator just took off at full speed and slammed into my garage wall. At the time, we fixed the car and a diagnostic was conducted which did not show any problems. I was assured by Saturn employees and progressive employees that my car was safe and that it was probably a freak accident. I was reluctant, but I took the car back. On February 17, 2010 the exact same accident happened again! same spot in the garage - almost the same damage as the first accident. This time I was furious. The damages we had to pay for includes: sheetrock for the garage $200 garagetek wall $150 garagetek cabinet $220 3 fishing poles and reels $480 workbench $100 generator - brand new - $645. 88 2008 insurance deductible - $1,000 2010 insurance deductible - $1,000 the above estimate totals $3945. 88 and doesn't even cover everything that was damaged. . . Let alone the increase in my insurance. I wrote a letter to Saturn, but have not heard back yet. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

54 Equipment problem of the 2007 Saturn Outlook

55 Equipment problem of the 2008 Saturn Outlook

Failure Date: 12/24/2008

The contact owns a 2008 Saturn Outlook. There is an odor inside the vehicle that makes the driver and passengers ill. The contact is concerned that the odor may derive from a toxic source. The dealer cannot smell the odor; therefore, it still remains. The contact found paper air fresheners inside the vehicle and wondered if the dealer was aware of the odor prior to selling the vehicle. The failure mileage was 680 and current mileage was 5,100.

56 Equipment problem of the 2007 Saturn Outlook

Failure Date: 08/05/2008

Problems with passenger airbag - sometimes it would say off when a passenger is seated and sometimes it would say on and then turn off after some time. Had to have work done on the fuel pump, then the drive shaft went to the point where it car had to be towed. I was told that this never happens. Currently, the car now kicks back when the car is first moved for that day and the dash board will flash, either, speed limited to 108pmh (when pulling out of driveway), park assist is off (when it is on),or traction control is off (when it has never been touched) - the car will also shut off without me doing so. I have taken it to a Saturn dealership and they say that they can find anything wrong with the car. I am currently five months pregnant and I do not feel safe in the car. When the car kicks back it hurts.
