Air Bag Not Deploy Problems of Saturn SC1

The contact owns a 2002 Saturn Sc1. The vehicle was a salvaged vehicle from a certified dealer. While driving 30 mph, the brakes failed and the vehicle crashed into a wall. The air bags failed to deploy. The contact believes it is a serious safety issue to have non-functioning air bags. The vehicle was destroyed and a police report was filed. The current and failure mileages were 48,000.

Vehicle involved in front impact accident, rear-ending a non-moving vehicle at approximately 30 mph on impact (straight-on and center). Airbag did not deploy, driver sustained head injury. Vehicle damage included front bumper & hood.

Dt:the contact owns a 1999 Saturn Sc1. The contact's vehicle was involved in was in an accident on August 5, 2005 while driving at 60 mph. Upon impact, air bags did not deploy the front driver or the front passenger air bags did not deploy. There were two occupants in the vehicle and both havd seat belts on. Pictures and police report are available. The vehicle was totaled, and one occupant sustained injuries.

Consumer states that the vehicle was involved in a direct frontal collision at 35 mph. Upon impact the air bags did not deployed. Resulting in minor injuries. Dealer would be notified. Feel free to provide any further information.

In a front-end collision the front airbags failed to deploy and resulted in facial and chest injuries to the driver. When contacted, Saturn's explanation was that the car did not hit the other vehicle at the correct angle. Saturn refuses to accept responsibility, and states that there is no design flaw or malfunnction of the airbag system.

Consumer was driving at approximately 65 -70 mph and fell asleep behind wheel and was rearended. At that time, it was too late for consumer to stop, and vehicle fell into ditch. Dual airbags did not deploy, which could have caused injuires. Please provide further information.
