While driving 20 mph there was a clunk type noise and without any indication vehicle stalled. Dealer noticed valve spring was broken. Manufacturer and dealer were contacted. Dealer found spring valve broke, causing the piston to hit the valve and bend the valve. Mechanic states that the problem was a result of a manufacturer defect. Saturn finally agreed to pay a portion of cost to install new engine.

Vehicle stalled on five occasions while driving. Been into dealer shop on two separate occasions, and unable to locate cause. The problem was found to be as a faulty crank angle sensor and battery. Later on, the same vehicle was reparied for motor mounts and steering pump problem.

Consumer states that at any speed the engine just cuts off. Also, the vehicle loses its power and has to coast to a stop. Consumer stated that a mechanic said it could be the ignition switch that's causing it to stall.
