Front Air Bag Sensor Control problems of the 2007 Saturn Sky Redline

Three problems related to front air bag sensor control have been reported for the 2007 Saturn Sky Redline. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem

Failure Date: 04/28/2012

Service airbags soon warning came on indicating a problem with the passive restraint system. The pressure sensor on the passenger seat was diagnosed as bad. Now the passenger side airbag is shown as off and does not detect the seat belt status. It is questionable whether the passenger airbag will deploy now in the event of a crash. This is a safety issue that could have dire consequences. Upon investigating, this a common problem with the Saturn sky and pontiac solstice models.

2 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem

Failure Date: 01/02/2012

2007 Saturn Sky Redline. Consumer states the sensor has failed and the airbag and perhaps the seat belt mechanism will not activate the consumer was informed it would cost $600 to replace the sensor. Also, the emergency brake would not hold. The consumer was informed the rear brake calipers needed to be replaced at a cost of $ 840.

3 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem

Failure Date: 07/01/2011

Passenger presence airbag sensor was intermittently not working and now does not sense a passenger at all. Passenger airbag is now off.
