Three problems related to front seat belt retractor have been reported for the 1997 Saturn SL1. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Front passenger's seatbelt stays retracted. Seat belt would not extend completely around passenger.
Passenger's seat belt failed to retract from retractor. Dealer notified and refused to repair unless cost goes to consumer.
Left front seat belt will not deploy. Jams and will not extend.
