Two problems related to alternator/generator/regulator have been reported for the 1996 Saturn SL2. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Due to defective alternator, vehicle would stall unexpectedly and without warning which may have caused a crash. Dealer could not determine the cause. Also, there are problems with electrical wiring harness.
Alternator failed.
