Air Conditioner problems of the 1997 Saturn SL2

1 Air Conditioner problem

Failure Date: 07/31/1998

A/c system odor caused by debris in system, poor performance.

2 Air Conditioner problem

Failure Date: 03/30/1998

Noise from engine area due to failed compressor leaking and contaminated serpentine belt.

3 Air Conditioner problem

Failure Date: 04/01/1997

The air conditioning system malfunctioned, causing accumulation of moisture in the a/c system which resulted in amildew smell which triggered the occupant's asthma. Please provide further details.

4 Air Conditioner problem

Air conditioner: foul smell like cat pee/ammonia after using a/c. Reported several times to dealer; they removed a/c parts and cleaned evaporator, etc but smell persists. Unsafe for owner's health to use a/c; odor causes headache and breathing trouble.

5 Air Conditioner problem

Ventilation system is designed to circulate air when the car is moving. A foul odor emits from the system due to fungus in the a/c unit (evaporator core), causing headaches, nausea, scratchy throat. Aw.
