One problem related to ignition module has been reported for the 1999 Saturn SL2. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Automatic transmission control module failed. There was a recall issued; however, this vehicle was outside of the remedy scope. After three attempts to keep the "service engine light" from illuminating, the mechanic finally replaced the faulty ignition control module. Consumer felt the recall should go back a few more years.
