1 Side/rear Glass problem of the 2000 Saturn SL2

Failure Date: 12/23/2000

Rear window failed catastrophically due to mild thermal gradient. It is known that there was no impact of any kind within 6 hours of failure due to a snowfall which covered the window. Window failed two minutes after powered show was dusted off exposing it to cooler air. Saturn denies responsibility for the defect.

2 Side/rear Glass problem of the 1997 Saturn SL2

Failure Date: 12/16/1996

Driving vehicle during the rainy weather rear window would be distorted or wavy, visibility would be very poor; took to dealership who called it "the christmas tree effect. " Saturn has pin-stripped the orange defroster lines block. This eliminated "the christmas tree effect," but darkened the interior of vehicle.
