general problems of the 2007 Saturn VUE - part 2

Ignition key slips out of ignition in all positions. Date and mileage of start are approximate. Additionally, ignition has subsequently become difficult to turn with key, making the vehicle difficult to start.

I was driving in my subdivision and the curtain air bags went off in my 2007 Saturn Vue hybrid. I swerved and ran into a tree causing massive frontal damage and the driver-side air bag to deploy. My 3-year-old daughter was in the back passenger child car seat and was ok but I was diagnosed with chest, knee, hip, and nose contusions, still healing after 4+ days. The car was a total loss per allstate. I have no idea what caused the curtain air bags to go off but see on carcomplaints. Com there are many airbag issues. Very mad and demand attention from gm since Saturn is defunct.

Key can be removed from the ignition when the ignition is not in the off position and while driving the car. When I was driving the key fell from the ignition and the car was still running. . . I was able to put the key back in the ignition. This has happened on several occasions and I can pull the key from the ignition while the car is running.

When I was driving I accidentally pulled my key from the ignition but the car was still running and I was still driving. . . I was able to put the key back in the ignition. When I finally came to a stop and put the car in park. . . I wanted to make sure this was a one off so I tried to pull the key from the ignition while the car was running and it came right out.

2007 Saturn Vue the passenger side air bag light went on and I was told that it has to do with the heated seat malfunctioning. They say that the air bag won't work if the seat doesn't work . . . . . . They say it will cost about $900 to fix. . . . . . . This week, we found out that the ignition cylinder needs to be replaced because the car is not registering the keys, and it is not allowing the car to be started. In addition, the check engine light is now on and the engine is "running lean" I feel that the air bag problem and the ignition problem should be under recalls for sure.

I bought this car in July 22, 2012 in city kia in orlando( used car) with 37,299 miles on this day. 2007 Saturn Vue. In March 2013 I took a ride from kissimmee to miami and when I came back home and got off the turnpike I heard a big sound under my car and it stared to slow down until it stopped completely in the middle of the street, I had it towed to a repair shop and they said it was the transmission,they fixed for $1,926. I also has some electrical problems, once in a while the radio goes randomly changing channels by itself and when I open or close the windows it sounds like it looses electricity, and also a leak from the air conditioner compressor is leaking a green fluid, also the airbag goes on sometimes but eventually turns off.

For the past year I have been having a very difficult time inserting the key in the ignition and turning the key to turn on the car. Once I get the key in I have to jiggle it over and over until the key is able to turn. Sometimes it takes me anywhere from 5-15 minutes. However lately when the key is finally in it gets stuck and it does not allow the key to be released leaving me stranded. I also noticed the airbag sensor light turns on and off randomly while I am driving the car and while there is a passenger in the car. My biggest concern is if the airbag fails to deploy in case of an accident. Another concern of mine is that sometimes when I am driving the car it accelerates itself for a moment or two and it is very scary. I am currently unable to drive my car because I am scared, especially because I drive my 5 and 1 year old everyday. I am unable to get the car looked at this time due to financial reasons. My Saturn Vue is not included in the recall however I really wish it were because all of the problems I am experiencing are very similar to that of the gm vehicles that were recalled. Please investigate the Saturn Vue 2007 ignition problem, airbag light problem, and accelerating problem. Thank you so much.

I was driving north on road that was having some road repair on a rough section I lost all power no steering hard brakes . I have had this prob several times since, thank you.

My Vue has mysteriously started emitting a strong scent of fuel before I could get it into a day alert to diagnose and service it I was on the road when a fire started in the rear of my vehicle filling it with smoke. I pulled over and my boyfriend extinguished the flames but my brake light and dash light and instrumentation had been damage from electrical harnesses fryng . Also needed to replace fuel pump return system and float as they were the initial cracked cause. Very scary thank god and jesus my baby girls weren't in the car or that worse had happened.

The dash board lights sometimes don't come on and the radio will be on because I can hear it but there is no display or lights, if I turn the car off and on a few times I can usually get them to work again.

Ignition key fell out of ignition while vehicle was in motion. It has happened several times since over the years. It can easily be removed from the ignition even when in the park position. Key can come out of ignition no matter if the key is new, a copy, or showing any wear. I have never kept anything other than one house key and the manufacturer's fab attached since I first took ownership of this vehicle.

The key has had many instances of trouble inserting or removing from the ignition. The key can also be removed while in any of the positions. At times the key also has trouble turning between the different positions. Seems to be the same issue that many similar model year Saturn vehicles are having. I venture the problem is impacting more vehicles than gm is willing to admit. The longer it can push of the repair the less costly it is to the company.

Driving on interstate, check engine light came on, shortly thereafter all dash lights came on and car shut off on its own. Coasted to side of road, thankfully no accident. Took to dealer, diagnostic test ran, 5 codes came up, repaired only one according to paperwork. Next time drove vehicle happened again.

Continual electrical malfunctions, most recent windshield wipers failed to operate during heavy rain storm while driving on highway. My car is three years old. I have had 8 trips to dealer to address these "modular component" issues. The dealer has made repairs, longest time dealer kept car was 25 days to figure out how to repair. My car just reached 36000 miles and Saturn customer care refuses to acknowlege this car is a safety hazard should another component fail while driving.
