Fuel Pump Problems of Saturn VUE

At 200 miles, the check engine light came on. Took the car to the dealer. Told me that I probably didn't put the gas cap on properly. They re-set the check engine light. At 800 miles, the check engine light came on again. I returned to the dealer. They were able to detect 2 error codes on the computer. They examined the car and determined that there was a small hole on the flange of the fuel pump. They replaced the fuel pump and re-set the check engine light. Car has been running fine since. Old fuel pump is not available.

The contact owns a 2008 Saturn Vue. The contact stated that the brake lights, headlights, and instrumental panel lights shut off several times. Most recently, while driving 55 mph, all of the lights dimmed. When the first failure occurred, the dealer replaced the computer body sensor. After the last failure, the dealer replaced the instrumental gauge cluster and the powertrain control module. The contact has not driven the vehicle since it was repaired. The manufacturer informed the contact that they were unable to exchange the vehicle. The current mileage was 3,719 and failure mileage was 2,070. Updated 04/02/08. The fuel pump was replaced, because the vehicle would not start.

While driving the road the vehicle started to lose power. The further I drove the less power I had until the vehicle stalled. I was able to start the vehicle after a few minutes but when I stepped down on the gas pedal it stalled. The vehicle was towed back to the dealer on Saturday evening. The dealer contacted me on Monday and said that the electric fuel pump was faulty and he would have to order one from the factory. I picked up my vehicle on Tuesday evening and it appeared to be running fine for the momment. I made thee quarters of the way home and the vehicle started losing power again. I attempted to turn around and go back to the dealer but the vehicle stalled out like before. The vehicle was towed back to the dealer again and the new fuel pump had to be replaced again. I picked the vehicle up approximately a week later and it has been running okay ever since. In fact it has been running better that new new. Now the emissions light is coming on and going off after a couple of days?.

I own a 2002 Saturn Vue and before I had it 1 month a sqeal was heard. The dealer replaced both fuel pumps. A few months ago the service engine light came on and it was a fule evap issue. It came on again 2 weeks ago and this time the fuel evap canister was replaced. I am concerned with safety of this vehicle because of the fuel issues. Also in mid December the clutch return spring snapped in half. The air conditioning lines leaked into the vehicle. I believe this car is a lemon!.

My complaints are several . All of which have been described in technicakl bulletins. I have had my vehicle back to the dealer no less than 10 times since I ourchased it. Now, I live with the issues because I can't afford to lose additional work , the worst problem is the vibration in the drivetrain at idle (when in drive and the vibration driving at 60-65. In addition, the front drivers door squeeks ( I belive its the insulation) my luggage bolts broke, the seat cushion on the drivers side would not stay attached on the front edge, there is a popping noise when the truck is idling, when you close the rear liftgate, the plastic interior seperates from the door, whe it is cold my steering column make noise.
