Vehicle seatbelt is fraying on driver side. Tried to cut off the fray, but realized it continues fraying everytime I use the belt. Have called multiple gm dealers as well as the 800 number for gm. From their info and checking websites, the parts for the seatbelts for this model vehicle have been discontinued. This includes the 2008-10 Saturn Vue and the 2010-2015 chevy captiva (which is the same car). I am shocked that I have to purchase replacement seatbelts from a junkyard or other used method. Seatbelts are something that I should have ability to replace new. Once gm dealer seemed concern and related that they thought that gm had to replace new ones. Another autoshop stated that this was a recall-type problem on some gm vehicles - but mine does not show this sort of thing. First noticed around 9/11/2023. Bought vehicle on 9/9/2023. Thought it was dog or cat hair until I educated myself online and realized the belt is slowly disintegrating.

Since we have had this vehicle the transmission keeps messing up. The transmission slips after it is put in gear. Once put in gear and the accelerator pedal is pressed there is lag between the sound of the engine rpm increasing and the gears engaging and the car taking off. The vehicle also rolls backwards a worrying amount when it is placed in park. Also when you go to drive the vehicle doesn't wan to go out of the low gear. This has happened not once or twice this is consistent. We have kept it maintained since we bought it. The most recent was just 2 days ago.

The manufacturer contacted her about a warranty. The contact did not notify the manufacturer about the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.

A friend was able to drive the vehicle back to the residence. The vehicle was deemed a total loss however, the contact did repurchase the vehicle to preserve any evidence pertaining to the seat belt failure. A local dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The contact stated that the manufacturer performed an investigation but the evidence was inconclusive. The approximate failure mileage was 72,000. Ah.
Light for airbag comes on light and signal for seat belt comes on even though seat belt is engaged.

2096 Saturn Vue, with front seat heaters. Air bag warning light lit, diagnostic code bc092. Replacement part 15785010 is no longer available per dealership. After reconnecting wiring(left disconnected by dealership) and turning passenger heater switch on, error code could be cleared to turn off warning light. While off, passenger detection works ok and passenger air bag is activated. It only stays fixed for less than a day. Has left the error light lit and the passenger air bag disabled for over a year. Notice about 100 or so similar complaints on 2006 Saturn Vue's here; I wonder if the equivalent chevy suvs have the same problem.

Tamara ( unknown to consumer ), I wrote many times on this issue and have not received any response from anyone. Passenger airbag and seatbelt alert lights malfunction. This has been an issue very early in distribution of this vehicle as it was already replaced once within 2 years of leaving Saturn dealership in August 2006. I can only say god help gm if anything happens to a passenger of mine due to this issue with all the complaints made by myself and others and it keeps on going ignored.
Driver's belt no longer retracts after driver exits the vehicle.

Upon lowering the seatback, the middle seatbelt became "locked" in the lowered. This is the first time I have lowered the seat. .
I was driving on the interstate (i90) near rockford IL when all of the sudden my side curtain air bags deployed. There was no accident and the front air bags did not deploy. The seat belts locked up and the lights started flashing. This issue has not been resolved through gm. My insurance company says they wont fix it because it was not in an accident. Gm has not been helpful at all. Gm had an independent investigator out. The investigator said it was obvious it was not in an accident. Gm has been very vague in its response. Only saying that they believe the air bag system is ok, "something must have made it go off".
We rarely have put the rear seat in the folded down position but did so this past weekend to bring home some baby gear from a friend's house. When I tried to lift the seat back to the upright position it wouldn't raise. It appears that the middle seat belt locked and will not release. We have three (3) children and must have all three (3)seat belts usable. Went online to search for help and we found many incidents of this happening on multiple year Saturns which would indicate a serious design flaw; yet we will be liable for the expense because the warranty has passed unless we can find a way to release the locking mechanism.
My Saturn Vue redline was hit by an oncoming vehicle. The seat belt on the rear passenger seat was ripped from the seat, from the interior. The seat belt was found wrapped up in the axel, wheel and tire. The door to the vehicle did not open at any time. I have photos if you would like to see them. No one was injured in the accident, but if someone had been in that seat investigators said that the person would have been ripped in two. I only want someone to see if this is a problem with the Saturn Vue as I own another one and do not want to take the chance of having someone killed or injured. I have contact general motors, but they keep giving me the run around. It seems that they are only interested if someone has been injured.

The failure and the current mileage was 116,000.

The contact owned a 2008 Saturn Vue xe. The contact stated that she was rear ended while driving 55 mph. As a result, the vehicle spun around and rolled 20 feet down into an inbankment. Upon impact, the side airbags did not deploy and the front passenger seat belt failed to retain the passenger. The driver suffered a severe contusion and abrasions. The passenger sustained a damaged knee, shoulder, arm, hand and head. The police were notified and a report was available. The driver and passenger declined services through an ambulance. The vehicle was destroyed and towed to an independent mechanic. The dealer was notified and the contact was awaiting a response. The failure mileage was approximately 95,000.
N 2006 Saturn Vue, the rear seat is a 2/3 split bench upon lowering the seatback down, the middle seatbelt became "locked" in the lowered position. The dealer told me the only remedy was to cut the seatbelt. They then told me it would be 300 dollars to replace it!interior parts). I believe it is a manufacturing defect, and should be replaced at gm's 's expense. There was absolutely nothing I could have done to prevent this from happening. I was using the automobile features as they are intended to be used. I see many many complaints of the same description on the internet!.
2004 Saturn Vue, rear seat, middle, seatbelt doesn't stay latched. I was carpooling some kids and it appeared that the seat belt latched, but when we came to a quick stop, the seatbelt was not actually engaged. It was a false latch condition. Now there is a recall on Saturn outlooks due to similar condition.

And also we are having problems with our passenger door getting stuck and not opening. We have two small children and a teenager. Help us please.
Tl-the contact owns a 2008 Saturn Vue. The contact stated that upon entering the vehicle the front driver side seat belt locked and fractured before the contact was able to strap the seat belt on. The contact stated that this was a recurring failure. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnostic testing. The technician stated that they was unable to find a failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified. The approximate failure was 12,000. Kc.
In 2006 Saturn Vue, the rear seat is a 2/3 split bench (the rear passenger- and middle-seatback fold down together to accommodate for large objects). Upon lowering the seatback, the middle seatbelt became "locked" in the lowered position. The dealer told me the only remedy was to cut the seatbelt. They then told me they would not pay for the seatbelt to be replaced (warranty has expired on interior parts). I believe it is a manufacturing defect, and should be replaced at Saturn's expense. There was absolutely nothing I could have done to prevent this from happening. I was using the automobile features as they are intended to be used.
Had vehicle less than three years. Driver's seatbelt clip has a plastic piece that breaks off inside the housing of the floor harness. Took to dealer; told there was nothing they could do outside of replacing--@over $300. When asked about replacing the middle seat harness, was told it was another size . . . Really? isn't there a law for seatbelts and attendant safety. We are running belt through passenger loop when double front occupancy.
I was stopped at a stop sign behind another vehicle in my 2004 Saturn Vue when a suburban rear-ended me at approximately 40+ miles per hour. I then hit the SUV that was stopped in front of me - and we both went approximately 100 feet forward from the stop sign. The impact totaled my truck to the point of the rear was crushed to the back seat and the front frame was broken in half with about a 1 inch gap. My issues with the safety are: the drivers side seat broke nearly all the way back into the rear seat to the right with the seat sliding back and forth. The air bags did not deploy - yes, I was originally rear-ended - however the impact to the front was extensive as well. The driver's seat belt did not engage causing me to hit my face and head against the steering wheel causing severe neck pain (a cervical sprain) and a broken nose requiring surgery to repair.
The vehicle has major wind noise. . . You can not even hear the radio or conversations in the vehicle due to this noise. The car also has a rattling coming from the driver and passenger side of the car, we can not identify the source. The vehicle also rolls back on a hill when in drive. The brakes also squeal and the dealership says they are fine, but we do not believe they are. These problems have been going on since may 2005 and till now (1/18/06) Saturn has not fixed any of them.
