Starting at around 75,000 mileage on my 2018 Subaru Crosstrek, a persistent howling noise is heard while driving. This noise comes from the rear of the vehicle and occurs at nearly all driving speeds, measuring at around 90. 0db while on a highway (a dangerous level for prolonged exposure). A service shop and the dealership have both diagnosed the noise as an issue with the rear wheel bearings (consistent with Subaru service bulletin 05-70-19r). In January 2026, my low tire pressure warning light appeared on my dashboard. I checked the tire pressure with a gauge and found no issue. I assumed (and later confirmed while getting a tire changed) that the tire pressure sensor had a dead battery, and that the warning light was related to this dead sensor rather than an issue with the tire pressure. Before getting the sensors replaced, I drove for a week with the low tire pressure warning light on my dashboard. I ignored this sensor because I confirmed daily with a pressure gauge that the tire pressure was fine. However, one day while driving in February 2026, I got a flat tire on the front passenger side. I drove with this flat tire for at least six miles, not knowing I had a flat. The howling noise from the rear wheel bearings masked the noise from the flat tire, and I could not audibly distinguish anything out of the ordinary with my car. Unfortunately, this occurred in the same period of time that my tire pressure warning light was giving false flags for low tire pressure. I feel it important to log this issue because - had my rear wheel bearings not been making a howling noise - I would have noticed the flat tire immediately and would not have posed a safety risk to myself or other vehicles.

Unknown exact cause. Rear end of vehicle suddenly appears lower than normal. Suspension seems to be issue. Feels as though vehicle lost suspension in rear with no obvious outward cause. Awaiting inspection at dealership. Does not seem safe to drive in current condition with unknown cause of issue at this time. Having vehicle towed to dealership for further diagnostics today.

There are 2 issues that I have noticed since I bought my car from a Subaru dealership 10 days ago. The first is that upon driving at highway speeds (over 50 mph) it feels like the car is jerky and pulls in a shaky rocking manner. This happened continuously, when I was using the cruise control and when I was not using the cruise control. It basically felt like I was driving in 40mph winds that were moving my car independently of what I was doing. The second is also something that happens at highway speeds, my driver side mirror shakes and vibrates so much so that I can't make out the surrounding space, cars and road at all. I scheduled a service appointment at the same dealership immediately. I told them these issues and upon inspection they reported that they do not see or report any such issues that I am concerned about. Stating that these are quote "characteristics" of the car. These are both potentially very dangerous problems that Subaru has stated is not an issue as far as they are concerned. There is a lawsuit about the driver side mirror that was filed in September of 2024. I just bought this car used with 10,500 miles on it and nobody mentioned anything in person or on the pre certified inspection checklist, carfax report or anything of that nature about these issues which Subaru must actually know about. If I was told about theses issues I would have not bought the car. And they are continuing to deny anything is wrong, saying its just a characteristic of the car. There are no warning lights or messages alerting of this issue within the car.

Both front lower control arms have damaged bushing discovered at 48,840 miles by my mechanic. Took to local dealership on 8/16/25 and they claimed per TSB from Subaru for cracks that although it had cracks, it was not necessary to be replaced due to it not being cracked enough. Brought back to my mechanic on 9/26/25 and cracking is worse, odometer is at 56,763 miles now. This part is supposed to last around 100,000 miles. Premature cracking puts me at risk of losing control of my car should the parts fail.

The low tire pressure light came on and noted the left front tire had 27 pounds of pressure. Inspection revealed tire cord damage only on the inside edge of both front tires. This is clearly a suspension defect as the car only has 29000 miles. The rear tires have been checked to have 6. 5/32 and the front are less than that. Tire wear appears to be even across the face of the tire but the inner edge is extremely dangerous and likely would blow if we did not notice this. We called Subaru of America and they said it’s a tire problem and to consult the manufacturer. This is not a tire problem as the rear are not showing the cords. We discussed this with the dealer but they can’t do anything for the premature wear. We are told we must replace all 4 tires as two new ones would be larger than the rear with 60 pct wear. Tire info is falken ziexze001aa/s. Dot 1r800 fm2r1623yread wear 360, traction a, temp a. Size 225 25r18max load 850kg, tread wear 380.

I received 2 recall notices in the mail from Subaru 0n 6/16/2021. I immediately contacted the selling dealer, dunning Subaru, ann arbor michigan and was advised that they could not even give me a date in July when the vehicle could be repaired, but they would add my name to a waiting list for appointments. I contacted Subaru customer service for assistance and was told I would have to find a local retailer on my own and that though they said the vehicle was not safe to drive, they refused to offer and substitute transportation until the vehicle could be repaired. I contacted lafontaine Subaru, commerce twsp, mi and was advised that they have been unable to order sufficient parts for this recall and while the earliest available appointment was for July 7th (3 weeks from today) they could not guarantee that they would have the parts on that date to actually perform the repair. In short, Subaru produced a defective vehicle; advised me it was not safe to drive the vehicle; is unable to repair the vehicle in a reasonable timeframe; and refuses to provide substitute transportation. What is the good of a recall program if repairs can't be made and the customer is stuck without transportation; and the company response is essentially - "it's the customers problem to deal with - have a nice day!".

I bought my car in mexico and have moved to north las vegas nevada. The dealer will not make the necessary safety repairs under the recalls. What do I do? do I have an unsafe car?.
Strut has creaking sound during driving in city traffic. On highway there is hardly any noise and works fine. Dealer suggested strut replacement but not under warranty since it was in accident in that area 6 months ago.
Tvehicle bounces even when going over smooth roads. Engine seem try to stall while idled in drive mode. Rough starting of vehicle makes noises until warms. Vehicle has less than 55,000 miles.

Rear suspension feels weak. The car is always squatting while driving. Headlights shine into other drivers eyes with just my children in the back. (less than 100 lbs).
Around sept. 2019 my 2014 Subaru Crosstrek started making a clicking noise when I made a left or right turn from a stop. My Subaru had 47,000 miles on it. The noise continued to get worse and it started having a vibration in it. Its now starting to catch when you make a left or right turn from a stop. I had it checked out and was told my cv axles are bad and that's causing the problem.

Car has 67,000 miles, is three years old, the front left and right axles had to both be replaced. There was a loud clicking when steering the vehicle. On both sides of the car. Any turns whether with speed or slow the axle would make a loud clicking noise. I was not in an accident nor hitting potholes etc. Just making basic turns onto roads and highways.
Since I got this car , the engine over heated frequently. Engine oil mixed in the coolant. At 20 mph the engine started make the vibrant noise. The power train is not good for this vehicule. I went to Subaru ,3340 oakton st skokie,IL for inspection, it is like others peoples had the same problems like me. Also nothing is guaranteed if you want to spend the money to fixed or replaced the engine. The engine over heated frequently was the main problems and issues for this vehicule.
My vehicle was purchased by me at 24k miles I have driven now to 70k miles and need 2 new front axels. I have been sitting at the dealership for 3 hours and they have gone through 3 different replacement axels on the left side. This is not the first time this car has given me issues but being less than 100k miles and needing 2 new axles?? that is insane. The car clicks when I turn and makes a clunking noise.
Left constant velocity (cv) joint has failed after only 66k miles. During turns the car makes a loud clicking noise that is distracting and I was concerned the car may inflict more damage to the drive system.
