Driver seatbelt buckle will not release. May take up to 10 firm pushes of release button before buckle releases. Engine oil was at 1 quart even after 1 quart of oil was added per month. Dealership diagnosed as rod knock. Second opinion led to changing oil twice and checking pressures. Recommended change oil every 3000 miles on this particular type of engine.
Tl-the contact owns a 2012 suburu Forester. The contact stated that while driving at 69 mph the vehicle burst into flames. The vehicle was on cruise control and it shut off and the vehicle lost power. The flames came from under the hood on the driver's side. The contact was able to coast over to the shoulder of the highway. There were no injuries and a police report was filed. The vehicle was towed back to the contact's home and was destroyed. The manufacturer was called but the dealer was not contacted. The VIN tool pulled up one recall campaign number:12v-099000: (seat belts). The failure mileage was 130,000. Tf.
