While taking groceries out of back seat, I found a 14mm shiny nut on back floor, left back side of front passenger seat. It fell off the bolt holding the front passenger safety belt retainer (part you click buckle into). After putting it back on, and torquing the heck out of it, I found that the two bolts holding front passenger seat down, were loose and standing about 0. 75" above bracket surface. I also torqued those down to avoid seat becoming loose. I then checked all other bolts for front seats and found no problem. We were very lucky to have had the seat belt nut fall where it did, or my wife could have been hurt.

Takata recall I am a fitness instructor and in the health field for very long time. Subaru along with other car companies are using the new mandated forward -head rest . It should mandated that the head rest also come with 2 or 3 (forward and back adjustment options) all you can do is move up or down. I am tiny. I have to sit close to the wheel--and this headrest juts me forward and has caused me horrible neck pain for the first time in my life. I am 39 years old. I know this was tested on dummies and it for prevention of whiplash-- but can car companies --make them adjustable??????????? forward and back ??????? not just up and down. Forward head posture is also leading to horrible posture problems, arthritis, neuromuscular diseases from the spinal cord being squeezed from forward head which is already happening from texting and computer use. . . I do not understand how this got passed ? I have to play in so many ways and turn the headrest backwards and have tried to use the back seat headrest . . . . Nhtsa. . . May read this and go----whiplash etc. . But this is so upsetting and distressing ---for me to drive with. . . . My neck is in terrible spasm . . . Change head rest settings.

The vehicle was driven several miles with the passenger sitting on a thin pillow. When arriving at the destination it was noticed that the passenger airbag off light was illuminated. The light is very difficult if even possible to see in the sunshine, so it is unknown how long it had been illuminated. There was no audible indication that was noticed. The vehicle's manual was later read where it was discovered that this is as the vehicle is built, that a passenger needing a pillow must use the back seat. Without that knowledge beforehand and a non-noticeable light, a life was endangered. The secondary complaint is that the manual states to write to "contact the vehicle manufacturer concerning modifications for persons with disabilities that may affect the advanced airbag system. " I propose that may have been put in the manual as a legal sidestep and that handicapped persons rights are abused with this design. I recommend writing to that address to see if there is a response. (100 mileage is estimate).
Tl- the contact owns a 2010 Subaru Forester. The contact stated that the performed recall repair from NHTSA campaign id number 12v099000 (seat belts) did not repair the failure. The contact stated that the support boxes attached to the seatbelts had continued to pop out from the back seats. The authorized dealer was notified several times and provided no remedy. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 26,689. Dyd.

1. No failure yet. Center, rear passenger, roof mounted, seatbelt is currently not being used on a 2004 Subaru Forester x. 2. 10lb tug on the center, rear passenger, roof mounted, seatbelt on a 2004 Subaru Forester x will cause the headliner to cave. Further inspection of the seatbelt retractor unit found that it's mounted on a thin gauge metal (bendable) flap bolted to the roof with one bolt. 3. Nothing has been yet. It's a new item problem.

1. Left air/heat vent non-functional. Air/heat is pushed out with almost no force, unlike right vent, which blows with significantly greater force. Brought this complaint to dealer who said he had the same problem with his car. Said it was design flaw, did nothing to address problem. 2. A spot of oil or grease-like substance appeared on rear left seat back. At first thought it was nothing, now stain has grown to cover almost a third of the entire seat back. The leak is obvious and growing, the seat back continuosly greasy and wet. Dealer notified, claimed there was nothing he could do about it.
