With the headlight switch in the off position and the gear shifter is moved into either the reverse or drive position the shifter seems to activate the rear tail lights to light up and stay on. This action is occurring more and more frequent. This occurs backing out of the driveway, going down the highway, etc.

2 Tail Light Switch problem of the 2015 Subaru Forester

Failure Date: 07/20/2017

While driving at night, another driver let us know that our tail lights were not on even though the headlights were working. Also, the bright headlights are not working. Brake lights, emergency flashers, and turn signals are still working. When we have to drive at night until problem is fixed, we have to drive with flashers on. Checked all fuses and all are ok.

5 Tail Light Switch problem of the 2010 Subaru Forester

Failure Date: 11/23/2009

I have a 2010 Subaru Forester and the rear tail lights fog up constantly. I have only had the vehicle 3 weeks and less than one hundred miles. The vehicle has been back twice since I purchased it, only because of work otherwise it would have been back every day. On the last visit the service manager said there was a service bulletin issued on 12/17/2007 due to a design change the head lens and tail lens fog up and will not be covered under warranty ,and won't be fixed. The bulletin does not mention year 2010.
