: the contact stated the vehicle's cruise control turned itself off without warning. The service dealer determined the electronic control module was not coded correctly and could not be fixed. Updated 1/19/2007 - the consumer explained that this problem occurred when the tank was half full. When the tank was completely full the problem never happened.

Vehicle Speed Control problem #2

The contact s is a member of a religious group that owns a 2005 Subaru Impreza. The contact stated that while driving and when placing the vehicle in reverse it accelerated by itself, causing the vehicle to hit a tree. The contact stated that she did not accelerate. During the first two weeks of purchasing the vehicle it accelerated without pressing the pedal. The auto repair shop stated they could not find anything wrong with the vehicle. The contact contacted the manufacturer, but they stated that there had not been any reports of this happening. The contact stated that the dealership was going to inspect the vehicle to determine the cause of the acceleration.
