One problem related to front air bag has been reported for the 2006 Subaru Impreza. The most recently reported issues are listed below. Please also check out the statistics and reliability analysis of the 2006 Subaru Impreza based on all problems reported for the 2006 Impreza.
90 mph head on crash, and neither the driver nor the passenger airbags deployed, resulting in severe hyperextension of the neck and back of the passenger, causing 4 herniated disks, as well as a severe concussion resulting in post concussive disorder with permanent short term memory loss. When Subaru was contacted listing the 2006 Impreza and the above information, we were told that the federal crash test ratings are only for head on collisions with a brick wall, and if we had hit a brick wall then they would be liable-since we hit a guardrail twice and were jettisoned across the street into a shed whose center steel support beam finally stopped the vehicle, they were not. Owner/driver of vehicle was casey kendall of moab, utah.
