1 Carrier/rack problem

Failure Date: 07/07/2020

This is in regards to the Subaru windshield lawsuit. Sometime in late may of 2020, I found my parked car on the street outside my apartment with a crack that spanned over 12"on the front windshield. There was no sign of what caused the crack. Over the next few weeks the crack continued to grow across the windshield. I had it replaced July 7, 2020, at that time of it was over 24" long. I was told by my local window repair shop that Subaru had to be the ones to replace the windshield because they would be the ones that needed to recalibrate the computer system that connected to the windshield.

2 Carrier/rack problem

Failure Date: 04/24/2020

I purchased a used 2017 Subaru Impreza in April of 2020. The windshield has been broken twice since then. The online photos showed it with an intact windshield. When it was brought to my home for a test drive it had multiple cracks on the windshield and the dealer stated that they had to replace it when we purchased it as they were in the line of site for the driver and a safety hazard. After a few weeks of not driving the car other than to get groceries during covid the new windshield that the dealer had just replace cracked. There is no stone pit, it simply cracked on its own. This crack runs from the upper passenger corner for approximately 18 toward the middle and bottom of the windshield. It appears to either be stress or thermal related. Two windshield cracks that don't appear to be from a rock in a months time seem like a possible defect to me. The crack I noticed grow without recalling a specific incident that started it. The dealer is now trying to offer a 5 year crystal fusion treatment and warranty for $995. Some online searching on this makes that seem like a scam at best. The disclaimer on the form states that they won't replace the windshield if breakage is part of a factory defect, which it is looking like they could state. I want to replace my windshield that is cracked, but would like some reassurance that it won't break nearly immediately again and would like Subaru or the dealer to stand behind these vehicles as this appears to be a widespread and systematic issue.

3 Carrier/rack problem

Failure Date: 01/15/2020

My windshield cracked in one corner for no reason. I'm worried about the stability of the entire windshield. The car was parked in a locked garage when this occurred.

4 Carrier/rack problem

Failure Date: 03/15/2018

Windshield spontaneously cracked for no reason.
