The front headlamps on this vehicle are not bright enough and it is very hard to see when driving in areas that do not have street lights. Additionally, when it is raining hard, there are lots of puddles on the floor, making it even harder to see when there are obstructions or potholes in the road. I worry about getting into an accident because of low visibility caused by the defective headlamps. I called my local Subaru dealership today (2/22/23) and I asked whether I could fix the problem and then get reimbursed. I was advised not to do that and to let Subaru handle the issue. However, it has been over 5 months since this recall notice was sent out and there still hasn't been any remedy or even an explanation as to why the remedy is taking so long, or when a remedy can even be expected. In the middle of the night I attempted to make a left turn into a parking lot (with headlights on). I was unable to see the ground in the front/left portion of my car. It wasn't until I had almost completed the turn that my light was pointing towards the turn enough that I was able to see I turned a few feet early and was pointed at the curb. I ended up striking the curb with my front left tire and went up over the curb. This scratched/dettached part of my bumper, removed my left fog light cover, and bent the tow "eye" underneath the car. I've noticed while making right turns it can be difficult to see the ground right in front of that corner as well.
