Key will not come out of the ignition which happens every day since the first happening on 8/22/20. After googling it appears this is a common occurrence with 2016 Imprezas and outbacks.

09 wrx hatch, the traction control and hill assist lights will illuminate sporadically. After the vehicle is turned off and then back on , everything works fine. I haven't found any variables that are consistent. It doesn't matter if it's rain or shine, hot or cold, both lights will just randomly come on.

I bought my car brand new and about six months after owning it my check engine, hazardous roads and cruise control lights came on. This has continued to happen numerous times since. I have been told it's a sensor, mass airflow sensor. Ocv valves and "maintenance" light. The problem has never truly been resolved and no one has been able to tell me what the root of the problem is. There have been times when service workers have just cleared the computer and sent me on my way. ## #vpic# 1 - check digit (9th position) does not calculate properly; 3 - VIN corrected, error in one position (assuming check digit is correct); 14 - unable to provide information for all the characters in the VIN. #vpic#.

On 07/08/2019 I took my Subaru Impreza to a local dealership to have recalls wue90 and wty84 competed. It now seems that whatever work was done to satisfy the recalls has been causing the car to malfunction. The recall service was completed on 07/09, and I picked it up that day. Beginning on 07/10, however, the check engine and vehicle dynamics control warning lights started coming on intermittently. So far, these warning lights have displayed for a portion, or for the entirety, of 22 of the past 32 days. Both lights (check engine and vdc) have displayed together every time, and are usually on or off when the vehicle is started. When the lights are on, the cruise control does not function and I have noticed a significant (-21. 6%) decrease from my average gas mileage. On four occasions that I am able to recall, the warning lights also came on under braking (I. E. They were off when I started the car and then turned on at some point during my trip when I pressed the brakes). Whether the warning lights are on or off, I have no way of knowing what isn't working (other than the cruise control as I mentioned). I have taken the vehicle back to Subaru twice to try to resolve the issue: first on 07/10 and then on 08/07. They scanned the codes, did some work on it, and gave the car back to me, claiming that it was fixed. The one thing they are failing to consider is that the problem may actually be related to the service performed to complete the recalls because I've never had an issue with the vdc since I bought the car almost six years ago, and I don't believe the check engine light has come on during that period either. At this point, I don't even know if the car is safe to drive. Attachment: photo of warning lights after leaving the camelback Subaru (phoenix, az) service shop on 08/07/2019.
The O2 sensor was replaced by resale dealer, after filling car with gas the check engine, traction control, and flashing cruise control light came on. Sensor was rechecked by dealer, and it is okay, codes wiped and reset. Car was filled with gas, lights came back on after commuting back home. Drove until there was 1/4 tank left, lights went off, filled back up with gas all the lights came back on. Sensor still tests back as the problem, but the sensor is okay.
The brake stop switch fails intermittently causing dash lights to show the hill brake assist, stability control, and abs systems have stopped functioning. Another side-effect of this situation is the failure of the brake lights causing a risk of rear collision if the driver continues to drive even when the dash lights go off. An extremely unsafe driving situation.
Upon entering the vehicle which was parked in the garage and preparing to start I placed my foot on the brake pedal it proceeded to travel to the firewall with no resistance. I then pushed the start button and the instrumentation lit up. I could not proceed any further. I got out of the car shut the door. I pondered what to do next ie, call a tow truck, disconnect the battery and decided to re-enter the vehicle. Upon entering everything returned to normal. After this occurred I brought the vehicle to the dealership and was informed that they could find nothing wrong. In the past I have had problems with the display not functioning, the airbag warning light coming on. These problems disappeared after the the engine was shut off. These problems appear not to register in the system computer. I have notified Subaru of America of these problems, especially the brake incident, which I consider a serious safety issue but they show very little concern.

The brake sensor switch fails to report position of the brake and turns off anti locking breaking system. If fails you car turning the car apply brake and the following lights turn on. Hill assist, abs, skid control. When this comes on abs does not work. It sometimes locks the car in park. This happen then tried to stop quickly in the rain and braking system did not work correctly. Rear-ended a car. Reported this to a dealer year ago they did not know what caused it. I found it quickly when searching the web. Common issue that could be deadly.
In cold weather (approx. 10 degrees fahrenheit or below) upon starting the vehicle a high-pitched noise can be heard and the traction control warning light and hill-hold warning light at times simultaneously illuminate. Each time I have cycled the ignition off and then started the vehicle again the warning lights are no longer on. In such extreme temperatures this forces me to decide between clearing the warning lights in this manner and hoping the vehicle will start again due to the strain placed on the vehicle's battery in such conditions or leaving the warning lights illuminated knowing that I will have limited safety assist from the affected systems in these extreme driving conditions. In either circumstance I am forced to make an unfavorable choice. I have contacted Subaru of America to document this concern.

Brake failure at low speed coming to stop at traffic light, traction control light came on,brake light came on and check engine light on. Returned to dealer to repair. Dealer took 2 days to repair . At witch it lasted till today(12/30/2013). The same thing has happened again. Very scary you wonder if the car is reliable and always afraid to travel now. Have grandchildren and cannot trust this car. I hope someone can help. Have to return to dealer (again) to have them look at it (again). Wonder if they know how to fix it.
As I was pulling into a parking space at work the hill assist light, vdc light, and abs light all illuminated. I turned the vehicle off and later turned it on and the lights were off. I drove the vehicle home and as I got off the highway the lights illumintated again.
Vehicle check engine light, stability control assist, and cruise control light come on all at the same time rendering those system useful. Also sometimes the hill start assist and abs light come on rendering those unavailable as well. Making the vehicle not as secured as advertised. It started in 2010 took it to the dealership and they just erased the codes, but the problem continued, still happening today.

I started to get a film on the windshield of my 2008 Subaru. I took it into the dealership and they did a test and found a problem with the a/c unit; they told me the film on the windshield was safe and car was safe to drive. I took the car in again while they were waiting for parts, for another issue, and I requested a copy of the tech notes and the film that was on the windshield was freon!- health hazard. They fixed this problem with the freon film, and now not a month later its back, and worse. I again took it into the dealer and he told me this is natural, that the gas in the upholstery needed to get out and that the gas is again safe. I asked the salesmen that I got the car from,he never heard of this. Still not fixed as this is a natural issue, there is also a foul odor coming out of the ac/heater system. I have also had issues with the traction control when activated the vehicle loses power in all of vehicle, has a loud noise coming form the right side of the car when the system is engaged; nav system when its turned on will go to blank white screen, will also not respond sometimes; need seat belt system replaced on the passenger side, was retracting when not needed; issues starting- hard crank over, sometimes had to repeat to start,or turn key over for long period of time. I am now having health issues as I drive the car everyday for hours. I have almost been in many accidents due to this issue. Wiping off don't help.
