I attempted to get a safety recall (headlamp assembly defect) addressed at my local Subaru dealership. The vehicle is still under warranty, and I was told I may be able to get a loaner or rental. However, when I arrived, I was informed that the dealership only has 9 loaners and does not offer rental coverage at all, even for warranty customers. I had already spoken to someone about my need for a rental due to my class schedule and was led to believe this could be arranged. I drove down there, took time out of my day, and missed class — only to be turned away with no solution. Subaru’s recall notice acknowledges the increased risk of a crash due to poor visibility and glare. My vehicle remains unfixed and unsafe to drive, and I was left with no support despite my warranty and a safety recall. Subaru has not made it reasonably possible for me to address this recall. If an accident occurs while I wait for a proper resolution, I will hold them responsible. I am submitting this complaint to formally document my experience and push for accountability.

To start of with the steering seems to loosen up while driving, it's hard to explain but while driving the vehicle it is very noticable that the car is jurking side to side , if your used to a certain pressure put on the steering wheel to turn or keep in a constant turn(like a long turn or steady turn on a long bend in a road , the steering loosens to the point that the pressure you are holding the car at going in the turn makes you go into oncoming traffic or to the opposite side towards the side of the road) and this is not a good situation to be in it's starting to happen more frequently now , before I thought it was a slippery spot or ice ,no it's on dry surfaces (road ways) the next thing is the power train, it seems to be a bumping sensation especially up a hill or grade it's getting more prominent (in transmission perhaps) I've been a mechanic for over 40+ years now retired so the newer stuff I'm not savy on but I know what's being sead . Now I m looking into any recalls for the 2022 Subaru Impreza I know I can't be the only one experiencing these problems??? another thing is the windows in the front doors (both front windows) when you put them up in the automatic faze they will go up but come back down to the center of the opening ,this happens a lot but not ?? it will do it for a few days , then it won't do it for a week or longer , then it does it again a few days ,you get the picture right , should of stuck with our first pick of vehicle instead of with this one , I do not think it's a safe car at all !!!.

I have not had an accident yet. I bought this vehicle in may and recently drove it at night. This vehicle is a nighmare!!!! the led steering responsive headlights are absolutely horrible and you cannot drive this vehicle at night using the low beams. If you are on a completely level road, you'll be ok. If you are on a road with at least a slight dip in the road, these headlights face downward in front of you about 30 yards out max. That means you cannot see anything beyond where the beam hits the road. You would have to drive with high beams on constantly and this is an absolute safety hazard to my family and other vehicles and pedestrians. This problem goes back to 2017 and has been recalled up to 2019. There is not a fix for it and why they still installed these lights till today is beyond comprehension. I literally purchased a vehicle that my wife or I cannot drive. All you have to do is google this problem and you'll read a vast amount of complaints from people who have these headlights. Why are you not doing anything to correct this? I ask that somebody help us!! I took my vehicle back to the dealer and all they did was adjust the headlights 6 inches which is comical. You can come and drive my car at night if you think I'm just blowing smoke. Please tell me what you are going to do and don't tell me I have to have an accident first before you will act on this.

On 8/9/24 I was involved in a fender bender minor collision with a parked car which damaged my right-hand headlamp assembly on my 2018 Subaru Impreza. On 8/23/24 I brought my car to Subaru of ann arbor to have safety recall wrg-22 NHTSA id 22v-624 performed on it. Both headlamp assemblies were under recall by Subaru. I was told by the service manager that the right hand and left hand headlamp assembly replacement procedure could not be performed free of charge, as promised by Subaru, because the front bumper was damaged (due to the accident), and Subaru could not remove and replace it in order to accomplish either headlamp replacement. On 9/9/24 I brought my car to heritage collision center for a repair estimate on my damaged right hand front fender. (see picture 1) I told heritage collision that the right hand headlamp assembly was under recall and Subaru was going to replace it free of charge. During the time of repair, I asked heritage if I could take a picture of the damaged and recalled right hand headlamp assembly (see picture 2). Upon reviewing my final bill of repair from heritage collision, I saw that Subaru had charged the msrp of $319. 95 to replace the recalled right hand headlamp assembly after promising to replace the recalled headlamp assembly for free. Subaru owes me $319. 95 for my replacement of the recalled headlamp assembly. (see picture 3).
Parked at a store. Car caught on fire while in store. Car had been parked approximately 10 minutes. Left side headlight spontaneously ignited.

The headlight reflectors on both the left and right front sides of the car aren't effectively reflecting light, which compromises visibility for other road users and jeopardizes nighttime driving. Moreover, both front halogen low beam reflectors fail to adequately light up the road for the driver, significantly reducing visibility. It's a genuine safety concern, and this recall was issued on August 12, 2022. Are Subaru cars safe when they don't address recalls?.

I am registering this complaint because the manufacturer has failed to remedy this safety hazard in a reasonable amount of time. . During night driving and while driving in the rain worn road markings are most difficult to see. Are you able to expedite the repair process? marguerite pinnock.
The cars left front and right front side headlight reflectors do not properly provide adequate reflected light, which lowers the visibility to other road users, almost causing a recent crash. Also, the left front halogen low beam reflector does not properly illuminate the roadway for the driver, substantially reducing driving visibility.
The front lights are low and barely does anything when driving in evening or late night, making it hard to see items ahead and almost causing accidents twice already. I can barely see railings while turning onto highway at night with these terrible front lights. It has been more than a year and a half since the recall and nothing is being done by the manufacturer to remedy the issue.

A recall was issued for this vehicle about 17 months ago and a remedy is still unavailable. We find this to be unacceptable especially considering it is a safety hazard.

Received recall notice 10/22 and still have not received a phone call to have it repaired. I have called the dealer and they said they are starting with the older cars first and I will receive a letter when I can bring it in. Per the recall notice it states "increasing the risk of a crash". I find this to be very concerning because my son drives this car.

I can't see far enough at night with the low beams on. I drive to work on coastal roads and have had several near misses. I have been to tacoma Subaru twice to get this fixed. The first time one if the parts was broken then when I went again this morning I was told that the Subaru corporation would not approve the work. It has been almost 16 months since the recall was issued and I think that's more than enough time to fix my car.
We keep on having to replace our headlights. We just got one replaced 5 months ago and it’s out again. This will be the fourth time in three years. No one can figure out why the headlights keep burning out.

The left and right headlight assembly's do not provide sufficient lighting to safely drive at night. I was notified of this recall over 1. 5 years ago and there has yet to be a remedy available yet. Because of this, I am unable to safely drive at night. I am unsure what to do at this point other than replace them myself, which I cannot afford to do. I had an incident where I ran over animal carcass on the road because I was unable to see the hazard until I was too close to properly react.

This recall 22v624000 was issued in August of 2022 and it is now September of 2023, over a year since it was recalled and Subaru still does not have a remedy according to NHTSA website and my local Subaru dealer. Does it really take more than 13 months to redesign a few parts in a headlamp assembly and get it manufactured? covid is no longer an excuse. When will someone put Subaru on notice to get this done? does Subaru have some sort of deadline as to when they are required to get this done? please help us!.
The manufacturer has failed to remedy this safety recall in a timely manner.
