One problem related to front seat belt retractor has been reported for the 1996 Subaru Outback. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Vehicle did a 360 degree spin across the highway and rolled over, neither driver's or passenger's side airbags deployed. The roof and the front end caved in. Also the seat belts did not hold.
