Car parked on slight uphill incline of house driveway. . Started engine, moved automatic transmission selector to d(rive). Transmission went to reverse. Moved transmission lever to n(eutral) and back to d. Transmission again went to reverse. Moved selector (shifter) to p(ark) and then to d. This time the transmission responded correctly. Care was stationary during the event.
